Try this: 1. Click Start 2. Click My Computer 3. Double-click Local Disk C: 4. Double-click Program Files 5. Double-click NCsoft 6. Double-click Dungeon Runners 7. Double-click config 8. Double-click User.cfg. Open the file using Notepad. You should see a heading that says [Display]. Directly under that heading, paste in the line: Pipeline = VFPF Close the file and save the changes. Restart the game and see how it works! This is a known issue with Geforce 3 cards and some ATI 9x00 cards. This bug is being worked on. steve |

I have added this to my game, but when I start the game up it disappears. No matter how many times I add this and choose to save, it just disappears. Is there something I should download, or should I re-download the game? It's driving me crazy to have this game and not be able to play it. |

Hmmm...perhaps this itself is the glitch...this file is empty...what ever should be populating it is not functioning or is being blocked in some way by another function. Ideas? Is there something we can do about this? |

This fix worked for me, but my user.cfg file was empty like others reported. I created both a [Display] heading and the Pipeline = VFPF line beneath. |

OK...I went in and in the empty file typed in those two things and it worked...problem solved. I guess the glitch then is why didn't it create the file correctly in the first place? Something for the developers to ponder. Either way, I can now get into the game and play it...thanks! |

I don't know but the problem I'm facing is that as soon as I click on a world, it locks up and I can't enter. Anyone know the fix to this problem. My video care is a GeForce 4 |

I got my game to actually get to character creation screen, but the mouse pointer won't move... Maybe I need to try a different mouse. |

I also have a gefore ti 4600 and this fix does not help, i can log in but after that i get to a screen looking at a room with 2 pillars and then the game freezes. =[ |

Do you still have this problem? I had it before, and I realized it was because my firewall prompted me on if it was okay to connect, but I was unable to minimize the game to accept it. I had to manually add it to my trusted zone before I could play. |

When I try to log on, it doesn't freeze but it keeps saying searching for worlds or soemthing, and in the background the camera was still moving as it were. What's up? I did as it said at the beggining of this thread, into user thing under display, and I also put it into default. HELP!! |

My problem is about not being able to see my character in-game when I activate the shadows from the user.cfg. I have an ATI Radeon X800 GTO. It happens both with LightBloom on or off, fullscreen or windowed. I tried to add the line as described above but no change: it just makes the login screen darker., because of the lower render. Apart from this, I can play the game with the highest settings (AMD 3800+, 1GB RAM), so I'm just leaving the shadows turned off, at the moment  Edited by Lucas (12/25/06 01:52 PM) |

ive tried that stupid fix and all it did was make the screen dark where i couldnt see anything. I did notice something though, if you leave the default settings alone this problem does not happen, but right when change even the smallest thing the charactor vanishes. hmmm. so leave settings alone and this will not happen MERK. |

My computer has a similar problem to one about three posts above. It worked once before, and now when I try to run it it gives me this exact error: Error compiling shader ./effects/2.0/Diff_BossGlow.fx. Try setting User.cfg [Display] section to Pipeline=VFPF. Same problem as well. Added in the pipeline line, even tried reduc9ing some of the other settings in the cfg files after it wasnt working, but still nothing.. the game starts up, but trying to log in, just hangs at "connecting to worlds".. I'm sure this computer should be able to run it, considering my one five years older could (thought it wasn't really playable)... Any other suggestions? |

Sys specs: Intel Core2 6400 (two 2.13 ghz cpus) 2GB RAM Geforce 7300 LE So game loads up fine (even if it takes awhile) but then wont go past connecting to world when trying to log in. I'm also very sure I modified the correct file. My other computer (2.66ghz, 1gb ram, geforce 5200fx) logs in fine, but the game is choppy even at foliage 0 and 640x480 res. |

Hanging on "connecting to world" is usually related to a firewall or virus scanner blocking the game server IP. OK I have to add my two cents to this. I am very new but will offer what I can as I hit a brick wall in two secs with this app, so here goes. I downloaded the exe, ran it, and then began the app. I loaded past the PlayNC screen to the spash screen/logon screen. After entering my logon details I found it just sits there. Had me thinking for a bit if I typed something wrong in but anywas. I use many different types of firewalls and Anti protect this and that. After looking at the exe's added to the safe list I found that AVG does not add the dungeonrunners.exe files to the "Allow" list. If you use AVG, add these THREE exe's to the allow list and the world screen loads and you can get into the game. Well thats my two cents. Cheers Syks -------------------- <<This Space for Rent>> |

Well my Radeon is 9000 series and after doing the fix to the default.cfg, when I run the .exe it almost makes it to the title screen, then closes and gives the error: "Dungeon Runners has had an unhandled exception, and will now close" Radeon 9000 Pentium 4 3.2ghz 1.5gigs of Ram |

Shouldn't you have applied the fix to the user.cfg, not the default.cfg and are you sure you entered it correctly? Maybe I missed something earlier. |

I cant get it too work! i add Pipeline = VFPF too user AND config files, and it still hangs when i try too connect too a server, and even if i get passed that sometimes, its a dead end with no character creation menu. And when i got out of the game and checked the user file again, the Pipeline = VFPF line was erased! |

Ok I too get the freeze where it is trying to go to the character selection screen and I have tried the suggestions in this post. However, and this is the huge kicker, this only happend on my paid account. I created a new free account with my master account and can connect and play the game with it but not with my actual account that I am paying. Figure that one out if you can. Also should note that I had a friend try it on his system, which is a separate network and altogether different area of the city in which I live in. Also I have been able to play the game just fine up until the other day. I even got a day and half in of play on the 0.53 version. I am still waiting for the reply from the tech people. And one last thing, yes my account is paid uptodate and I don't have to make another payment for 2 months cause I am on the 3 month cc plan. Dungeons are individual areas... you will never see someone who is not a part of your group in a dungeon. if you mean you can not see anyone on the player list(hotkey g or o) then you have a problem. -------------------- Longo... I made it to 100!!! I am retired. |

Ok, I've tried this suggestion after not being able to get past the "Que" which started last night. Nothing has changed on my computer since being able to actually play yesterday so I know it's not a firewall or anti-virus program. I've been able to play several months easily. Now I can't all of a sudden and like I said, nothing has changed on my end to cause it. And only after just ONE week of being a paid member Any ideas?? |

This is wierd, I got 2 Accounts: I logged on my main and i got that problem that we are trying to fix in this thread. But when i logged in my other i could easy play. So i tried my other again, and still got the problem. I did the Pipeline thing but still doesn't work. Sorry, i don't know my syc.. I've also recently been experiencing the Pipeline = VFPF error: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/7646/pipelinedrerrorvw0.jpg (I'm using Windows XP, just I prefer the classic Windows ui) I used to be able to connect, but after updating my video card drivers (I'm using a Radeon X800 GTO) the above error first appeared. I've read the entire thread and tried all of the suggestions to work around the problem, including adding: Code: [Display] to first my User.cfg, and later my default.cfg. As well as completely uninstalling both my video card drivers and Dungeon Runners itself. Nothing worked. This is quite distressing, considering I have just become a member and was hoping to find a few rainbows. D: Any further advice would be greatly appreciated, of course. I have this same problem. I can't see the character sheet when I log in. It's just the two fires going with the background and nothing popping up. I have an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 and am on XP. I tried the Pipeline line and still it doesnt work. It works when I change accounts, however. But not my main account -------------------- Goya, Level 100 Something |

ok i had that problem and i didnt see this thread... so i did ctrl alt delete, and ended task, now when i try to log in again, and i get to the character select page, it says character already in use... now what do i do? just wait it out? or is there a way to solve this problem? |

It isnt a problem only you experience at this moment. I posted information for you in your own thread. This is a problem that (I believe) happends to anyone when they try to log in at the moment. |
