Hahaha, well, I'm in Sweden but the company I've bought the webspace at is in Denmark (so yes, it's in Europe) and the domain is .eu since the .com was already taken by some evil corporation gathering domains just to sell them for a higher price.

550mb is too big for my internet connection.

Love the new graphics but I hope I can still run DR since I'm playing with lag now everytime I log on, so the graphics have been updated in whitch means more lag for my computer

I specifically tested the PTS version on my lowest performing machine (it has a Radeon x300 128MB, which is essentially a PCI-E version of a Radeon 9250, a pretty dated graphics card). The game runs better with the new graphics than it did with the old, due to the optimizations with the new engine.

When I can get PTS to work on my little DR laptop, with its Radeon Mobility chipset, I'll post the results here. It currently runs DR at the lowest settings, without decent frame rates, and neither lag or stutter.

Have checked to see if there are any Omega drivers for your chipset? I prefer them over the normal Catalyst drivers, especially for laptops.

To answer the question, no I have not looked for Omega drivers. If I run into problems with PTS, I'll look for them. Now, off to get a flaming buddy...!

Can't believe all the stuff I was missing out on because of the poor gamma correction of my monitor/graphics card combo.

With the new graphics engine I could turn up several of my settings, without taking any noticeable performance hits. ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 IGP chipset, default drivers, no tweaking. Nice, nice.

Rock on, FlamingPhoenix and Khazandra! Yeah, I've been a huge fan of the Omega drivers for a few years. In general, OEM driver support for laptop is dismal. For a few of the Dells I've had, the only drivers ever released were the ones that shipped with the laptop. Catalyst drivers are released monthly, but not for laptops. That meant all the new driver goodness was missing. The Omega drivers are mods of the most recent Catalyst drivers (well, the most recent ones he's modded), but are compatible with laptops, which mean you can get all the catalyst love you want!

I'm very tempted to install the Omega drivers to see how much better DR would look with them. On the other hand, years of computer experience are screaming to me, "It's not broken! Don't try to fix it!"

I'll probably do it later tonight.

Fascinating. After installing the Omega drivers I get the Pipeline = VFPF error on PTS and on regular DR. Adding that line to user.cfg has no effect.

I'm in the process of rolling back to my previous driver now. Will report back with results.

Still getting the same errors. Now wondering if the Windows Updates that installed themselves earlier this evening are conspiring to keep me from Dungeon Running... I am investigating.

Never mind. Removed all drivers, reinstalled original driver, and now everything works

Just out of curiosity, were you running both the PTS and live at the same time? I've had that error on a higher end machine, on rare occasions, when I have multiple instances open.

If not, that's too bad. I'm running the Omega drivers on this machine with an X300 and they're great.

Also, which driver version did you download? According to his website, the 7k series driver support was deprecated with Catalyst 6.6, so the best drivers you could download would be Omega 3.8.252/Catalyst 6.5 (May, 2006 Catalyst release). If you just grabbed the most recent drivers, that might be a problem.

I was running only the PTS the first time I saw the error. I shut it down and tried the regular DR, and the error came back.

I downloaded the latest driver, without paying that much attention to it, so that might have been what caused the issues. I might try the other Omega driver instead, the 3.8.252 one, tomorrow night.

Right now, I'm going to go to bed. It's past midnight and I am tired.
