Im glad someone sat down and did the numbers. Now of course there is a much more complicated equation to finding your actual dps. Looking at critical hits, which I dont think can be fully calculated without equations from the devs. Mainly because of the affect on AR vs mob def. And unlikely we will get that. The equation is definately good to compare 2 sets of weapons though. But keeping in mind if there is a + crit or +elemental damage this equation wont be enough. -------------------- JoeB - Level 100 - Back to a Fighter where he belongs SirOldBottom - Level 42 - Shadow Merc Mearlin - Level 29 - Mage Dungeon Runners Map Build 0.95 |

Very nice thread so far, I have a related, but different question: Many weapons, items, spells etc add some kind of magical damage to a weapon attack, but it is always listed as adding +X DPS, not X damage per hit. In my case, I'm referring to a Popper that does 296-1447 damage according to the C panel and gives: +96 poison DPS to weapon attack and Toxic Talent (Rank 9)which: Increases all of your poison damage by 305 DPS for 30s. Does that work based on your attack speed? My attack speed is 0.27 so does that mean that Toxic Talent does: 305 * 0.27 = 82.35 extra damage per shot (assuming it's not resisted)? |

Mmmno, not really. You got plain dmg from a weapon and magical dmg. So poison damage is only from skills. |

I just have to say I envy you all your math skills. I am whats known as a Visual/Spatial dyslexic. ie problems with left/right or numbers like 2 and 5. I am impressed just how far everyone one went. for me if i hit something and the bar goes down faster then when it hits me I am happy ![]() |

Hmmm a fairly old thread but... I was just starting in on DPS page for the Townstons and decided to check Flydd's min dmg and max dmg equations. Flydd Posted...
Max Melee Damage = [1.75*STR]+Max weapon damage Well I re-spec'd and ran a few melee weapons from STR 10 to around STR 500, (no gear, empty skill tray) shoved em into a spreadsheet and ran a linear trendline. The min max intercepts on the trendlines were close enough for me and the trends were definitely linear, but... well have a look. Here's what I got. Uber-Brella, 2h, Spd=0.83 min=234, max=1799 (28 points)
max dmg = 3.8921*STR + 1798.4 Skull-opener, 2h, spd=1.23 min=348, max=2673 (8 points)
max dmg = 5.8143*STR + 2667 twisted cane, 1h, spd=0.63 min=59, max=98 (just 2 points)
max dmg = 1.7556*STR + 97.444 dagger, 1h, spd=0.57 min=41, max=124, +6 slashing (just 2 points)
max dmg = 1.9293*STR + 128.71 Was wondering why no one piped up a response to Flydd's Damage equations. Well now I know. -------------------- ------=== Babs ===----- Spetsdod - Lvl 100 Ranger (DungeonRunners, W2) / Moderator: Townstons Wiki KrindiFain - Chief Master Sergeant (Exteel) -Semper Gumby (Always Flexible) |
