can someone help me out, and tell me where you get rainbow and get them

Ok, this is what I heard , and it may only be insubstantial rumor , or I may be dumber than a rock.

Save all your King Coins , you will need a lot. Goto level 4 or 7 of any dungeon but algernon , HDOL or Dew Valley. Reset instances again and again , fully exploring the map each time until you find a man called Sam. He will try and sell you Purples for King Coins and has a chance of selling you a Rainbow.

Or goto HDOL and fully explore the maps. This place has the highest chance of dropping Member Items because of its high boss density.

1) All loot is random - I've gotten rainbows from chests and fodder mobs.

2) Percent chances increase depending on what you're fighting (bosses, for example), where (HDoL) or if you're grouped.

3) You have to be at least level 15 to get a rainbow

4) You have a very small chance to get a rainbow from the normal king's coin vendors, a slightly larger chance (1 in 300) to get one from Sam

5) I got two today within 5 minutes of farming the Shadow Queen, so nanner-nanner...

Best place is hdol 6 and i have not got any off the queen or gatekeep but there good for purples and take a long time to get to so is a long run. I did however notice how i got my rainbows and i pay attention to whats goign on.

The queen has angels in her group and there always red to you, i think as long as you dont lvl up but i have not done that but i notice mobs turn green to me and not yellow if i do lvl up so... But those angles will wonder away from the main pack and into nearby groups and its those groups i got my rainbows from. So maybe its speculation, i think the angles being red to the player adds a better loot chance.

Those are my finding for now and every rainbow i have got has all been 2-3 levels under my current lvl and very depressing as i have not got any ranger gear yet only fighter stuffs not even mage stuff. lol So im changing my class soon i thinks i been trying to buy fighter skills now and hunting for good fighter gear off the shadows embrace queen as its just faster i dont have to do a very big map to recieve purples.

Just stick your noise close to the queeon on hdol 6 and drag a few angels out of there and into a near by group and get yourself some rainbows is the trick.

Edit to make one more note. - My other rainbows was from doing mutanous zone and Mobs was red to me so there is greater chance of getting good gear if the mobs are red. Hope that helps.

A Mythical item is commonly called a "Rainbow" because it's name is multi-colored instead of the normal blue, yellow, purple and such. They are the rarest of items to be found.

I have found 3 so far. First in HDoL starting area, second in HDoL, bottom off a critter at the Spider Queen and Gatekeeper, and the last off of a random boss type in Vergrims, lvl 5. Each one was not up to the gear I was currently using and all were 2 - 3 levels below me. Luck of the draw I guess. Two of them were vast improvements over the gears a friend of mine was using, who was also the same level of the items in question.

I found a Rainbow in Sissirat's Lair, Demon Sniper. Had to be a friggin ranger weapon though. It's worth 18G, not that I need the money atm, saving it till the multi-character member option when I build a ranger to use all these freaking crossbows in my bank. Kinda surprised to find a rainbow at level 18 though.

@JesusFreak - Yea man, I love how the non-existent economy (the gold economy anyhow) and proliferation of items contributes to such generosity amongst the player base. There's always people giving away items they can't use to other players. (I myself have received and given many great purples - no rainbows however, haven't even seen one yet heh)

It's just refreshing to be in an online environment where everyone isn't trying to scratch every buck they can outta the experience.

I got my first rainbow today in a chest located in Algernon Level 7. It wasn't anything really noteworthy, just a pair of gloves that gave a moderate HP boost and Endurance boost.

I was under the impression that finding rainbows is a matter of luck. It should be theoretically possible to find a rainbow anywhere from Dew Valley Forest to HDoL.

It is theoretically possible as long as your are over level 15. There are some places such as with bosses and HDOL that have better chances than a normal mob. I have found them killing normal mobs in shadows embrace and in chests in a few places.

I was in a group of two and we farmed the Snow Chieftain's place for several hours. We got three rainbows and more purple than you could shake a stick at. It was a relatively easy level to get through with a team (or solo for that matter), and the booty was ridiculous. I still have the two rainbows in my bank (shield and crossbow), but I am a duel weapon fighter... so they are collecting dust. The shield is pretty decent... but definitely too many crossbows get dropped, especially nice ones, in my opinion. Just wanted to suggest this place to newer players who might want to spend some hours improving. (am I right in thinking you guys are using "farming" for the process by which you reset instances and redo a level?)

Does difficulty level impact your chance to get a rainbow drop?

I would think playing on insane mode would give you a better chance...since it seems like when I do insane mode I get few grays, lesser greens, and way more blues and yellows.

Guess I'll find out once I get a character to 15+ (although someone in chat last night said you *didn't* need to be 15+).

I think the difficulty levels are borken.

Formidable, Extreme, and Insane all drop significantly higher amounts of gold. I noticed a LOT of blues and yellows on Insane, but no real difference on the other two settings.

Also, chests don't seem to be affected by the difficulty.

well Normal= same
Formable= 50 % drops
Extreme = 100 % drops
Insane= 150 % drops

The minimum level to get a rainbow is 15, but there are rainbows that are lower level. A level 15 character may receive a level 10 rainbow. This may be what they are referring too.

The first time i killed the Alor he dropped a rainbow, and i was only level 17

I got my first rainbow shortly after hitting 15 (very nice fighter gloves, bonus for being a nice piece I could use) but haven't seen another since (18 now). It fell from some trash mob - maybe even a fodder, but it was on insane (as I'm almost always on insane).

I've put the smack down on Sisserat (sp?) several times on insane and haven't got any rainbows that way - gonna give a few more tries since he's silly easy to farm. I get 2-3 purples per run, and it's damn rare that any of them are something I can use. Oddly I've got my 2 best siss-purps helping other people kill him on normal diff!

well i have got 2 rainbow from sissirat and my stepdad got 1 so me a my group has got 3 rainbow in like 15-25 tries

I feel bad that I have so much luck with Mythics, I'm a warrior and I have 3. Bane (2 handed axe) Devastator (2h Axe) and something that starts with a "c" (shield with 10% block and 500 def, lvl 16) My favorite is the devastator because it is two-handed but SO fast, those warriors who got it know what I mean.

I group with my friend who's a ranger and he never gets mythics. Which is why I feel bad

My suggestion is to kill EVERY boss, even the ones you have to go out of your way to kill, I got my mythic shield from one of those easy guys. Then farm the last bosses, and once you get the hang of them increase the difficulty for a better chance of getting good loot. Harder difficulty DOES yield more loot.

I mostly got my Rainbow's from bosses (Snow Cheif,Vergrim,Widow Maker,Rotgut,Abbadon,shadow Queen)
Took me a while to get my first rainbow though. =\
Sometimes i even give away free Rainbows i don't need anymore in world 1

i farm sissirat with my friend one day and together we got 6 rainbow i believe so.... and i gave most of the ones i dont need away and i usally trade and give an extra one free

For what ever reason, I did get them when I said. The 13% Growth one is a lvl 11 I believe.

I program in 6 languages, so I would have LOVED to have seen the code.

Basically, I have seen no rhyme or reason to the drops. Running HDOL in a two man team I got 40 Kings Coins in three hours a few weeks ago and almost no weapons dropped at all.

At other times I get straight crossbows and gold.

Mostly, I almost never see anything but yellow drop (a few greens thrown in), even when all the mobs are red to me.

Still figuring out some of the "randomness." Maybe next time I go a couple hours of getting the same drops I will try logging off and back in and see if it appears to change it.

i got a rainbow hammer in sissirat while i did a few runs with a group on insane and i didnt get for awhile (probably 6 or so runs) and i found it

My best night was 16 rainbow drops I got 13 from Sissi in a 4 hours farming session and 3 more dropped when we decided to do Vergrim.

best place to get rainbows is to Farm bosses and so it on insane better chance of rb drops

I got one from a Algernon Champion once. haven't seen one since :} I am still in the low 20's though.

well i did when i was a member i had like 20 but i sold them all when i got rid of my membership (miss RB's)

Amendment To Ripper's words, u dont hv to be lvl 15 to get an Rainbow, go check the lvl 10 freak wth 400+ pvp wins. He's lvl 10 wth most of his equip as Rainbows. Btw, farming bosses at insane level is the fastest way to get rainbow. Here are 3 dungeons for 3 different ranks of level which hv highest rate of dropping Rainbows. Low Level(10-25)= Sissirat Insane Mid Level(26-40)= Frump's Misfortune(Even At Normal Full Group U Get An Estimated Of 3.2 Rainbows In 1 Run Of 7 Levels!)-Tested by my main character wth a full group before. High Level(41-60)= HDoL Insane Godly Level)61-100)= I dont noe a heck, im nt tt high.

Actually, I never condemned anyone for not using Search, because personally... I never use it. If a topic is months old, then start a new one: that's good. It's not good when you start a topic and there's already five others flying around the forums.
