framerate issues?
#14951 - 02/11/07 06:32 PM |
This was posted in another forum, but I'm having the same problem and thought this would be the more proper place to post. I'm experiencing a lot of choppiness, framerate issues i guess, which I can't understand as my comp, while old, surpasses the minimum requirements. AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.08 GHz 512 MB RAM NVidia GeForce FX 5200 256 MB Tons of disk space DSL connection Any help would be appreciated. ![]() |

My specs are very similiar accept I have more ram in my pc and have bad slowdown and lag. I opened up the ports on my firewall and updated my video card drivers and that helped some but it still persists. I'm currently defragging my hard drive, running a virus scan, and removing some old software in hopes that maybe it will help and I'll let you know if i can fnd anything that helps. right now I think it has something to do with the geforce 5200 video card. |

is it constant during gameplay? or is it only whilst fighting certain types of mobs. also there are options in the graphics options (bottom right hand head icon) which can help eliminate lag -------------------- The FAQ-Read it! today (well, the past 24 hours) has been really bad for me, lag-wise. I ask if anyone else has been lagging, and the consensus seems to be no. I first noticed it when I changed the resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024, but the lag persisted even after I changed the resolution back. I also ran a speedtest on my internet connection, and that is fine. -------------------- Athlon64 3000+, ATI X800Pro, WD Raptor 74GB, 1 GB Mushkin HP3200 2x512 , WinXP Pro SP2 |

it's constant, in fact, when i'm at the signup screen, i can't say i know what it's supposed to be like, but it feels like it's jerky, and signing in... i get my entire sign in name typed before it starts showing on the screen. ![]() |

Ok after some tinkering I got Dungeon Runners working at a perfectly smooth framerate on my Geforce 5200. I'm not sure what did it but I will list everything I did and the settings I use. Hopes it helps. 1. used the pipeline fix: Path: C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Dungeon Runners\config Open User.CFG Enter the following line under [Display] Pipeline = VFPF 2. Updated video drivers and made sure direct x was working fine. 3. Made sure there was no spyware, virus, etc on my computer. 4. Port forwarded / triggering ports TCP 2110 TCP 7777 5. Settings resolution: 1024x768 Foliage: 1 Antialias: 0 Vsynch: no 6. Other options that may help defragging your hardrive and lower your soundcards hardware acceleration. |

apologies, but I figured it would be okay to post here since "bad slowdown and lag" had already been mentioned. after all, didn't want to post a thread then have someone jump on me for re-posting. ![]() -------------------- Athlon64 3000+, ATI X800Pro, WD Raptor 74GB, 1 GB Mushkin HP3200 2x512 , WinXP Pro SP2 |
