I was banned yesterday and got an email from plaync.com saying I violated the user agreement and they showed me what I supposedly said. I was in the game and saw the person do this, In market, they typed something in, then spaced a bunch and typed Market:> |My name|: and said something offensive.

I replied to the ncsoft people on the support ticket but haven't heard anything back from them yet. I am wondering if they will be aware of this trick and be able to go back and see that it wasn't me and ban the person who really said it (and caused me to get banned).

This is exactly what I was warning against in this thread. Unfortunately, your only recourse at this time is to continue to work with Customer Service. If this truly happened, they should be able to identify the real problem by thoroughly examining chat logs (assuming they have decent chat logs to examine).

To be specific, notice them wathing the part of the >|Name| part instead of >[name] part, they can probably identify the problem that way.

I hope so. I told them just to look back at the screen shot of whoever reported me and they will notice the | brackets beside my name and the person right above me was the one who did it.

People have been doing this a lot the past few days, I admit I even tried it (nothing offensive, I made it look like Balzack said "your welcome" after someone thanked him for a rainbow they got Thats what I thought I got banned for.

Glad to see it was resolved pretty quickly, wmc1982. The whole situations sucks.

At this point I'm kind of glad I was banned for that day. I'm sure I've deserved it from arguing with people in the past. Now I will be a lot more careful in what I say in chat.

First off, welcome back! Good to see that NCSoft is willing to review situations like these and solve them quickly.

Second, in a way it's kind of good that this happened. Now they know about this and will hopefully be able to prevent the same kind of misunderstandings in the future.

Note to self: Report in-game "identify theft" whenever I see it abused.

Hmm, lets hope this doesn't get whole |Pipe| thing doesnt get out of hand...

Not every day people are trying to scam the Support Team, I'm glad they were awake enough to straighten things up this fast.

They might even code pipes out of the game... but then people will just use something else I suppose.
