I havn't been playing DR too long but I quikly realized that this isn't much of a Massively online RPG. It's very small. I would greatly suggest opening it up a bit, I mean, it only has one city.

Here's an idea that you're probably gonna write off as dumb as soon as you here it, but please, hear me out.

Your own personal home ... only for members, this home is its own instance. The instance can be entered through the obelisk or a portal in Townston. In this home members have access to there multi character accessible bank, but even better, a training dummy . This training dummy can be used for practice on weapons and spells. It can be set up to track the amount and type of damage done to it in a set amount of time, it also keeps track of times stunned. This is for trying new spells and weapon combos out. Think of it, you are a warrior who gets yet another one handed weapon, is it better than your other ones? instead of tallying up stats and checking the character screen constantly you can pop a town portal, head to your house, beat on the dummy with your old one and your new one and find out if it really does do more damage. the "home" can be set up to need to be purchased or only attainable at a certain level. And once you set up an instance that only that player can go to you add all sorts of cool features (customizing gear color can be done here, STATS!! like how many times you've died, killed a boss, etc...)

I know, it may sound a little corny, but I see alot of suggestions like "DR needs [suggestion] like in [place another MMO here]" This game is different, that's why ppl are playing it, so KEEP IT DIFFERENT , don't make it like others, make it even more diverse. I mean, changing your class at any time by training in something else is awesome, it needs more original ideas like that.

Great job so far guys, consider it.

I'd greatly appreciate the capacity to check details about other players from a distance, even if it's as simple as checking their level or checking the gear they have.

Shift-Click to drop an item when not with a vendor and Shift-Click of a quest item when in a town to cause the quest item to vaporize.

Actually, all quest items should vaporize when dropped in town and they should be "purchased" by vendors for little to nothing.

Make KC usable to purchase something you know you are getting - like at a member-only vendor. I'm so tired of wasting KC - at least 50-60 to date.

After yet another evening of useless/ignorant and obscene world chat i'd like to see the following two things added to game.

1. World chat restricted to MEMBERS only.
2. An in game reporting function, the current method of reporting infractions via the Play NC forums is not only tedious, but apparently requires you to sign away the life of your first born and sacrifice 1/2 dozen chickens at midnight. Basically it seems geared to discourage any reporting at all.

I don't know about other members but having to /ignore every other person is gettng beyond a joke.

Sounds like most people just want all the stuff from WoW put into the game, why not just play wow. Sure features like inspect would be cool, to find out how many rainbow items are about. As for the training dummy, thats already been done on agame called CABAL! and it was rubbish, who wants to train on a dummy when you can go take a monster's head off.

Only alteration i see is that the terrain of most of the dungeons are the same, most of the outdoors..1 forest tile set, 1 snow tile set, 2/3 indoor tile sets. I'm only lvl28, but these are all i keep seeing.

Want to see more puzzle based bosses, like the widdowmaker and you have to destroy a generator to get to her, while your being attacked by skeletons, THATS COOL! more of it please.

Apart from that, the game is very good, being a WoW player with a 70charaacter and bored to the back teeth of the game after 18months, i have wanted a good game to come out, i think with a few minor alterations, this game could do very well.

Ah I agree with the last guy, more terrain and quests like that would be the best thing. Quest items that are surrounded by mini-boss/minions, having to flip all the switches to open the door while dodging/killing enemies, maybe quest items guarded by traps; stuff like that. Maybe something to do with raiding a pirates cavern would be good, we already have the title screen with something like that.

Hi there. I have a suggestion for game updates. My suggestion falls under crafting items. I saw this in a single player dungeon crawler and thought it would be great to add it to dungeon runners. What they did was put like shrines and anvils and things that the player could go up to and let's say it was an anvil you would go up to an anvil or statue and place any item sword.shield, armor or whatever you want to enchant. In fate you couldn't tell what the anvil or statue was going to do sometimes it took enchantments out of the weapon sometimes made it more powerful and some even awakened powerful bosses. I thought that was cool and i think it would make sense to have something like that in this game because let's face it even the strongest of champions make risky choices. Some turn out to be wise and others not. Let me know what you think of this.

Here's my two cents..sorry if it's a repeat. I think it would be nice if there were a way to filter the item search. It's a bit overwhelming to press alt after killing a boss and have a list of garbage items go all the way off the screen. Personally I don't bother with anything less than a purple, so I have to take my time carefully finding and clicking what I want out of the list of yellows/greens/etc. There was a system like this in Dungeon Siege and I think something similar would make things go much smoother.

Difficulty Slider
Some players think the game is a cakewalk, while others find it hard enough already. Perhaps some kind of system that allows players to set the difficulty would be nice

Various difficulties have been added

I'm not sure this has been mentioned before or not.

With the advent of multiple character slots will there be anyway to transfer/trade items between characters on the same account?

If not i can think of/suggest a couple of ways.
(silly sug
1. Make one bank page shared between all characters on the account.

Or silly suggestion tme

2. Introduce a new NPC that you give an item to for a specific character, may also be a we to allow character trades with ground drops, and when the target logs on they see the NPC with a '?' above its head, go to it and get their item.

Alternatively and in game mail system, but this doesn't feel to fit the game design.

Not sure if it would work, but if you head to a quiet little spot, and drop an item, wouldnt you be able to switch to another char and go pick it up?

Yes there's the risk of someone getting it, but it's how I used to transfer in old EQ.

You can just load up a second session of DR (it works very well) and alt tab between them. By doing so, you can invite your alt into a group and drop the item in a secure instance.

I agree to have traps, doors, switches, buttons and the like in a dungeon.
It would be normal to have player expert with those traps, why not a thief or a rogue class ?
A thief can have the following skills: disarm trap, open door, some skills about poison, a powerful hit (with cooldown) like a backstab, ...

Another class is always needed : a healer with heal spells, spells to buf other players, protect from or remove curses, ...

I would like more types of spells like spells based on earth, why not separate the 'shadow lightning' in lightning spells and shadow spells (which can be a sort of death energy which removes life or mana).
I think of spells that 'change' temporarily the terrain like walls (in ice, fire or earth), area of mud or bushes that slow down monsters and players.

Hi,
This list is a great tool. Very well done!

For my part i'd like simple things :
- An in-game Clock on the top right corner, simple and effective.
- Character emotes. Always fun.
- Be able to see ( Shift+onmouseover maybe ) the stats of an item on the ground

EDIT : deleted the /played suggestion. Already exists. thanks for the heads-up!

3b) We should have the ability to close the chat box.

I was going to suggest this as well, but since it was already done.... My reasoning behind hiding the chat box (apart from Balomar's) is that when I'm soloing and in a dungeon, the chat window sometimes causes me some problems during battle. (Like when I'm trying to change my POV with my mouse, or attacking a mob that happens to be underneath the chat window - which seems to be happeneing more frequently.)

Another suggestion for a UI enhancement that I have is that I'd like to be able to move the in-game windows around (inventory, skills, quest log, etc.). Since it looks like multiple windows share the same frame (like the inventory & skills windows) I don't know how easy this would be to implement. While I'm in town and selling, banking, or working on quests I like to chat with people. Unfortunately, the Quest, Bank, and Merchant windows all cover the chat window - this kind of makes it difficult to chat and do my business at the same time.

Well...those are my suggestions for now. If I have any more, I'll post them.

OK, my appologies if these have already been expressed, but here are four suggestions that I think would be awesome:

1- Adding special affects (lighting) to weapons/armor such as is done in Dungeon Siege would be very cool. These can include glowing colors, fizzling, dripping, smoking, frosting affects, etc. It will give more status/value to gold/purple/rainbow items as they could have more prominent and cooler affects than others.

2- I feel there needs to be a more rewarding experience for high level players who take the immense amount of time to reach high level. For example, as you reach higher stages in the game, your appearance changes, such as your eyes change colour/glow, your body glows, you gain spikes or horns or something special which increases to show you are a high level at a glance. Perhaps your individual character attribute (muscular practised stinging scoundral) can come into play with the specific affects of your appearance.

3- Also, add sound affects for people who are of bigger size due to size items. IE: The bigger you are the deeper pounding your steps make as you walk. Would be cool.

4- Finally, item based rewards for quests. As it is, (and I'm sure most will aggree with me, the king's coin are next to worthless. Consider making specific reward items (armor/weapons/unique fun gear for show only) for quests and the like.

Hope you guys consider some of these. Having said all that: it is an amazing game and I love it! Keep up the great work!

As Banai mentioned yesterday in world chat to Stephen, a little counter for health and mana potions under the quickbar. Extremely helpful, and fairly easy to integrate.

Make it so the damage text doesnt stack on top of each other when you show damage. the extra damage numbers stack on top of the main damage done making it hard to know how much you do. I want to know what my avg or high damage is and right now you cant tell if you do any kind of extra damage.

I suggested in another thread, that the king's coins could be color coded like gear. Instead of all of them being gold and traded in for highly random stuff, they could be color coded, (yellow, purple, even rainbow).

King's coin traders can have tabs like merchants do, for yellow or purple stuff, and retain the menus that they use now for the various gear, helms, boots, 1hand weapon, etc.

As one finds x purple kcs, he can turn them in for something purple, or yellow to yellow items, or even rainbow for rainbow items.

Make the purple kcs and rainbow kcs just as difficult to find as items of same color.

Point is, it would make the kcs worth finding, and keeping, and it wouldn't hurt the trading system that's in place now.

Just an idea.

That's not a bad idea, Oglind - it's more or less the same as the relic quests on the test server. I got 20 KCs as a reward for finding one type of relic, but only 5 for finding 4 of the common relics...

Thanks for thinking the idea not that bad. I haven't been on the test server yet, so I can't comment effectively on what's going on there.

I am not at all smart about graphics or how all this stuff works but it would seem to me, that adding code to the kcs to change some of their colors wouldn't be that difficult. Nor would changing the kc trader menus to be like merchant menus. Again, I'm not privvy to how these things work, so I don't know.

i cant say i am a pro and know exactly what i am doingf but i have worked with (i am almsot positive the same engine dr was created wiht ) but if not a alsmost identical one and that would not be that hard, i think it may be jsut as useful to instead simply make them like a normal merchant but everything costs kcs? so we could pick stuff we want instead of always getting crap( as i always do from token traders and almsot usually do from sam)

the relic system mentioned is simply by finding said relic ( generally medioker to find) you get kcs for it

Ok so this may sound like something that may have been posted before but I didn't see anything about it but my suggestion would be to add quests for The Embercore Path and Shadow's Embrace. I've been in The Embercore Path and I'd prefer a quest, other than just relic quests,to just mindless killing in these dungeons.

seeing proposal's list i have noticed one of primary importance.
whitout this kind of updates
more and more people will leave the game
that will be seen like a poor valuable little game

Trade System
Pure and simple, people what the ability to trade items or gold with other people. It should be possible to create a trade window where people can safely exchange or give away their items.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Auction houses. Do or don’t we want them?
Trading items with other people has been a feature that has been around in online games forever. The idea behind it is to get the items you want by giving away items that you don’t want. However, its not always easy to find someone who wants it at the time your selling it. If that’s the case then you could let someone else sell it for you. Welcome to the concept of the auction house.

At the auction house, people can put a price at their item and let it sell it for them. Think of it like a shop that doesn’t have set items or prices inside it. Anyone can sell there for any amount of gold.

This is exactly what some players don’t like. Auction houses, and trade in general will create a lot of rivality to get the best items. Also, the richest players(Those who farm most) would always get the items they like. And last but not least, having rare items is no longer an achievement. Having a rainbow or full purple can easily be done by buying them at the auction house. No fun, and it would seriously kill the games laid back spirit.

However, an auction house doesn’t need to be like that. There are dozens of other ways to make one, each with its own charms and flaws. Now, what would your opinion on this be? Have one or not? And if we have one, what should it be like? If you have any good thoughts concerning this then go to the auction house tread.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guild System
Whats a game without friends? And what more fun then gaming with a group? Give us the ability to create guilds. Guild are like permanent groups of players with a set name.
What can be done with guild is almost limitless but some suggestions are:

- Easy team forming
- Guild chat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Color(Dye) items
Sometimes an armour looks really good being blue, sometimes red looks a lot fancier. It would be nice if armour could be dyed to a selected color. Suggestions are:
- Mobs dropping paint (Maybe special color paint for hard bosses to show of?)
- Exchange king coins for colouring
- Select a color when buying items using king coins.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dungeon organised quest log
There are a lot of quests around. And these quests take place in different dungeons. However, on the quest log they are all messed up. It would be nice to see them “Dungeon Organised” to see what you can do in certain dungeons.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet but can there be a ring/necklace/item that a character can wear to 'Stop' them from earning experience.

As I would like my second account to stay a certain level for a while. Well it might not seem like a good idea but it shure helps the 'I dont want to go 100 so soon' thought.

another suggestion, this is leaned towards rangers. As most rangers know well I havent farmed many bosses, sissrat, snow cheif, and some randome ppl took me on a couple runs of rotgut. All and all the extra mobs seem annoying for a ranger especailly on snow cheif and sissrat, If im focus dpsing on the boss 90% of my dmg gets poured into random fodders it's a big waste of dps. There should be stages in bosses almost, such as once you get him to 75% health, he summons fodders or does special abilites, and then you kill the fodders they are dead, then at 50% he summons harder fodders and at 25% he summons 2 elite champions or something, just some thought into a more indepth Boss battle I Guess, that way it's not just kill farm farm you can possibly have a longer more intense battle and possibly get more rewards at the end? Just a thought.

If this really bothers you I don't think your in for much luck on a change the way boss fights will go down. I'm a level 100 ranger and farm bosses all the time and don't mind killing the fodders before/while killing the main boss. If you want to farm a boss who doesn't have a lot of enemies around him go for Abbadon. I wouldn't like getting a boss down to 75% and fodders pop out, and then get him to 50% and even more spawn, I'd get annoyed fast. My suggestion to this would to be for them to add bosses or special mobs (I would like them to be bosses though) that simply have their own room and no fodders around them. A simple You vrs a Boss, nothing else.

This may already have been suggested, and I know we have the "scrap heap", but what about a "junkyard" or "dumpster" in Townston where we old-timers could drop off unwanted items (if we weren't hurting for gold - grin)...

Items dropped would stay in the dumpster for, let's say, 24-48 hours, then disappear if no one wanted them. If you could immediately use an item from the dumpster, you could take it. It would immediately be soulbound to keep you from selling it, and you would be limited to one "dumpster dive" per day, per level, or some such. The inventory would be dynamic since things would always be dropped, taken, and deleted after the time frame.

Just a silly thought in a generous moment. Don't get used to it! - Greggo (level 63 fighter for now - 9/28/07)

Hi Greggo! I like this idea a lot! It fits with the theme of the game and keeps the economy giving. It's a simpler version of the gift exchange I suggested as part of my larger Teh BBB! suggestion. +1!

10/10/07 NEW SUGGESTIONS
#37031 - 10/10/07 10:53 AM

Great Job summarizing suggestions SILICIA! I hope this post goes where I want it to.

Many of my suggestions have already been mentioned...so I will simply present my wish list. Some are old...some are new. I hope they make it into an updated list somewhere. I already made macros for myself...but I think they would make great in game additions.

1. RISK FREE DROP.
When I drop an item in town or in a map just to re-organize my inventory to make room for it...I may not want it to be publick domain! Please allow a grace period or right click drop or control click that makes my unsoulbound item temorarily soulbound for x seconds so I can reorganize or sell as needed.

Another option would be a "safe drop zone" in town where you could drop items risk free.

2. EXCHANGE STORE.
A place to donate unwanted items and exchange them for things other people have left. It could be one item in one item out. It could be "store credit and debit" based on item values. Merchants offer diddly squat and only serve as pawn shops to liquidate unwanted items.

3. POTION COUNT
Already mentioned...put a number remaining on the pots on main screen.

4. ITEM STACKING.
As your level goes up so should the number of pots you can stack. Maybe you could sell "stack upgrades" at the vendors. FIVE doesn't cut it. Maybe your ability to stack should be your level. Level 50 can stack 50 pots.

5. STACK COMBINING.
When I have 3 pots and 3 pots...I want to be able to stack them to 5 and 1. This way I could take pots (or relics) and consolidate them. efficiently.

6. POT (and scroll) PLACEMENT.
The reason the inventory gets so messed up is because new pots are placed top to bottom left to right. If you reversed this and placed pots bottom up, right to left two wide...items picked up would fit much better! Of course, pots should be used in a LIFO (last in first out) method.
Even more simple...a "pot" belt.

7. INVENTORY ORGANIZATION
When you pick up a new item, if it wont fit in the first available row leaving at least "four squares"....put it in the NEXT column!

8. AUTO POTS.
If you allowed for a "triangle slider indicator" on the health and mana bars...people could set their "Auto Replenish" feature at a desired level. For regular battles, you would set the slider to say 50%. That way when your health fell below 50% you would use one potion. if your health dropped below 10%, a second indicator would auto drink 2 pots. If you were up against some big hitters and were out classed...you could set pot replenishment at higher levels....say 80%....so that one hit doesn't take you out, and you are prepared for the next before it happens.

9. AUTO LOOT.
So many variations mentioned. The gnome idea is VERY cool.

10. LARGER INVENTORY.
Ive heared "pages" mentioned. Scroll bar would suffice. Even Small Medium Large and UBBER bags and chests could work. Again...these should be made available by level and sold at merchants. Another option that I would love would be Pack animals....mules, horses, dungeon runner servants...ANYTHING. Even a gnome with his own inventory capacity...maybe I could buy more than one!

11. LOOT FILTERING.
I'm imagining a menu of check boxes and drop down boxes. For example you would have a list of each class. Ranged, Melee, and Magic...One handed, two handed, helms, shields, boots, bows, etc. For example...I might want RINGS yellow or better...I might want ALL purples and above...and only Yellows and above that I NEED....Ranger gloves....fighter armor...mage boots....whatever I WANT. OH...and maybe pick up scrolls and potions if I have less than X in inventory. Just a thought...

12. MOUNT UP!
A shopping list for the merchant. I want 50 red pots, 25 blue pots, and 2 scrolls....EVERY TIME. I want to click ONE auto purchase button that remembers my settings.

13. FRIENDS LIST UPDATE.
I want to know not just WHO my friends are...but what LEVEL they are, their last LOG ON, and maybe even how many times I've grouped with them. Once my list is full I have no idea who to nix. I would rather drop someone who is too low in level, who is inactive, or who I rarely team with.

14. SKILLS CONFIGURATIONs
Already mentioned. Multiple configs selectable on the fly.

15. DUEL
When players are talking in world chat...they should be able to right click challenge a name to a duel. They should immediately be sent to a duel arena where others may watch too.

16. INVITE INFO.
I want to know not just WHO...but what LEVEL, DESCRIPTION, and LOCATION.

17. FOLLOW ME
I want to be able to right click on a person in my group and select "follow." That way...when we are re-tracking through a dungeon to go to the next unexplored area....I can simply "follow the leader"
Similarly...it might be nice to add a right click "attack my target" option. This could highlight your "leaders" "called monster" so that your group can focus their efforts.

I guess I'll stop there.

FYI I have written several Macros that I converted to .exe files that could easily be distributed. I have had several requests for them, but have declined...because I don't want to alter the game experience without the consent of the developers.

I would love comments as to whether or not mouse and keyboard macros should be used.

For example, I have written:

MOUNT UP: As desribed earlier...it gets you set for battle. X red pots, Y blue pots, Z scrolls, all right alligned.

NEED HEALTH: AUTO POT when health drops below X%

NEED LOTS OF HEALTH: AUTO DOUBLE POT when health drops below y%

NEED MANA: AUTO POT when mana drops below 50%

BUY X: Hover your mouse over an item. Press hotkey. Auto Shift Click X times.

GET GOLD: Pick up all visible gold.

GET LOOT: Pick up all visible loot.

I have more that I am working on...but you get the idea.

These are simply Macros that run in the background scanning the screen for matching .bmp images and simulating mouse and keyboard clicks. They in no way "get inside" Dungeon Runners, and in no way compromise the system. They simply automate repetitive tasks such as hitting the spacebar at the right time.

Feel free to contact me. I'm usually on as KCMM.

10/10/07 NEW VERY GOOD SUGGESTION
#37033 - 10/10/07 11:36 AM

OK...I forgot to mention my best idea yet.

I've been thinking about Dungeon Runners and how it could be a more popular game. Fact is...people just don't know about it. It is one of the MOST addictive games I have ever played....and I've been playing them since 1977!

Dungeon Runners captures what MAKES a game addicting. Quick Kills, Gold Coins, Leveling Up, New skills, New spells, New equipment. There is ALWAYS another goal to reach...and there is very quick payoff each and every time. The pay off is so quick...that there is ALWAYS time for just ONE MORE RUN.

I came up with what I think would be not only FUN...but great viral marketing.

Think POKEMON meets Dungeon Runners.

INTRODUCING: DUNGEON RUNNERS TRADING CARD GAME.

Players can print out Color Trading Cards THEMSELVES of their FAVORITE Dungeon Runners and Monsters. They would be sized to fit into the "sleeves" at walmart that hold Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh cards.

You would not only put "DungeonRunners.com" on every card, but player stats, equipment, power ups, etc.

Special Cards could be purchased with kings coin or gold maybe.

You could have special attack cards, game tip cards, favorite quote cards, developer BIO cards, etc.

It would be a cool way to give your friends a screen shot and stats card of YOU...That's RIGHT....YOU ARE THE HERO!...but the card would include an invitation with 3 days free trial or something and a Refer a friend credit code!

You would have to make it possible to create a manual CARD GAME out of it. A way for a "Dungeon Runner Master" to guide several Dungeon Runners through a manual battle. Once the game is learned, there would be no need for the Runner Master. You could play against monsters or PvP one on on or group vs group.

KIDS across the WORLD would be printing off hundreds of cards...putting them in sleaves...laminating them...giving them away as gifts to show off their accomplishments, sharing their love of the game, and building Dungeon Runners Groups EVERYWHERE. People would trade and play MORE than POKEMON....why? Because it is FREE and PERSONAL.

Let this be my official electronic proof of concept in the event that it is needed in the future. I am qualified and would love to work on this project. Tell me my check is in the mail! lol

GO DUNGEON RUNNERS!

"DUNGEON RUNNERS: Where YOU are the Hero!"

My 2 cents:

Let's not change what is good about DR. Not make it into GW or WOW. Some of the features mentioned are nice like inventory auto-sort. (Is there any way to make the first post of this thread be a poll so people can just vote on the feature they prize the most?)

I think if DR is more of the same but better, we would all be happy:

More and varied places to explore. (More outdoor areas with vistas and skies?)

Alway allow Solo game play.

More and varied monsters (enough of the rat theme).

More skills and better animations (why is the stomp and the cry have the same animation?).

A little more depth in terms of Quests. Perhaps multi-part quests?

Just wanted to voice agreement regarding adding bags or additional storage to the game...allow us to buy more storage slots from vendors. Bags should occasionally drop as loot. We have to run back to town quite frequently to sell and hit the bank. Granted, the readily available warp scrolls makes that relatively easy and painless, but it is still distracting from the flow of the game.

I would like to see slots added to weapons and armor that would allow something like enhancement gems to be inserted to add additional stats and/or effects. For weapons, gems that added a certain type of damage like fire, cold, electric, poison, etc. and would add a particle effect to the weapon according to the type of dmg it does.
