Everyone needs to keep in mind that it is personal preference on a fighter build. What one player prefers doesn't mean the next one will. There is no perfect build in this game. The question I'm seeing from most seems to be the stats. Let me make a suggestion to those players who do not wish to experiment or have any clue. Strength: Will increase the amount of damage you do Agility: Will increase your damage rate plus chance to hit your target Endurance: Will increase your HP Here are some good templates for a fighter: Balance Strength & Agility I couldn't emphasize this more. It's nice to be real strong but you need to hit what your attacking. If your agility is too low you'll just stand there and swing but only hit your target once in a while, not real effective. You're going to need Endurance as well to have enough HP to survive HDoL by yourself. You'll need just a little Intelligence to use your skills and for your mana to replenish or you will eat through mana potions. Now here is the important part, always always go off your base stats when deciding what stat to raise when leveling. Do not go by your modified stats, gear can be replaced. Once you know what base stats you want you can always start collecting gear to raise what stats you want with it. In this case if you go with a balanced Str. & Ag collect gear to raise your End. first with a little Int. as well. Put more into Str. if you want and use gear to raise the rest etc. etc. Being a member also has it's benefits as the higher end loot have more and higher resist stats on it. Something you will need when at higher levels to survive HDoL. If you go running into HDoL by yourself and have no resist you are going to eat through potions like crazy as well as die by the caster hordes. I hope this helps the new players but as always I encourage players to just play the game and learn what suits their personal playing style. There is no perfect build everyone has their own perference plus you can always respec later down the road if you wish. |

Nice post! I hope you dont mind me adding some info to it about wielding :) Just like a certain build suits a certain player, certain weapons, or combinations of weapons suit some players better then others. Weapons: There are 3 things you should know about weapons. <ul type="square"> First, The damage they can do, and their min and max damage. Second, The speed they have Third, the type of damage they can do.[/list] The first one is easy. The higher the two numbers are, the higher the damage will be. The first number shows the minimum damage you will get each time you hit, the second number shows the maximum damage you will get a hit(Note: This is boosted by STR). So if a weapon is 10-20, you will do between 10 and 20 damage each time you strike. The second one is how fast you hit with a weapon. The higher the speed, the more attacks you make in a certain time frame. Last, the type of damage. This shows what kind of damage a weapon does. Like Slashing, Crushing or Piercing. Normally this is not interesting, but if you have some gear with + damage of a certain type, it might be handy to use a weapon with that damage type Wielding Now, there are combinations in which you can use your weapons. This is called WIELDING. The three possible wields are: 1H+Shield, Dual Wield(2x1h) and 2H. Each of them has certain advantages. 1H+Shield This one is pretty straith forward. You put a weapon in one hand, and a shield in the other one. The main advantage is that your defense will get a lot higher because of the shield your using. Your damage however, is the lowest of all the 3 wields. Two Handed These are the big weapons. They are in fact so big, that you need to have two hands to use them. The damage a swing of two handers is most times massive, and they can cause more then just a scratch on enemies. A huge factor in this is the weapon speed. The slower the weapon, the more damage a swing. Dual Wield In this configuration you put a 1 handed weapon into each hand. This is perhaps the fastest way of hitting enemies, and you can make a nice amount of swings that cause low damage a piece, but are so numerous the damage is still nice. The biggest advantage of dual wielding is that you can execute skills a lot faster. Skills that need a melee weapon have a cooldown on them, limiting the ammount of times you can use the skill. This cooldown is WAY lower with dual wielding then when using a massive 2H. An example is butcher. With a 2H the cooldown is 5 seconds. With dual wielding its just 3.3 seconds (Thats SHORTER then it takes to mob to stand up. So you can wack him before he even gets up again ^^) Hope you liked this little addition about the warriors ~Silicia |
