Some thoughts on fodder (ranger use mostly)
vB post 41509 - 05/14/07 12:08 AM

As I said in game today, I think it is very useful to keep ranged reflection as a serious consideration in gear stats. For rangers, I see this as being more important, especially if you intent to poison low level mobs, or "fodder". Monsters will inevitably regenerate hitpoints if they aren't taking damage after a certain period of time. The basic idea (for anyone using AOE poison) is to keep your poison efficient and, thus, make sure that the mobs continue to keep taking damage.

This will obviously vary from one build to the next, but I think the basic idea of reflection of ranged damage will help out with players having trouble running down other ranged mobs that aren't "one-shot'ers" or just become annoying.

I could be wrong, of course, but it seems that, as a fighter using gaseous blast, the damage sticks on range attackers as long as they are continually being hurt by reflection damage from the gear I wear. And, especially when it comes to fightgers with low int, you want to get the most out of that poison damage without seeing it all go to waste. Combine this with Cleave or any other skill that affects multiple monsters and you might see a change in those large 'pulls' and your survivability/faster killing. Open to discussion...find me in game.
