I've seen so many questions about how to buy and pay for Dungeon Runners, I thought I'd post this guide as a reminder. As of today, July 5th, 2009, here are your options for buying membership for Dungeon Runners:


Retail Box - Only available in the US and Canada. Isn't being produced anymore, but can still be found at various GameStop (US) and EB Games (Canada stores. The retail price is ~$20 USD, but it can often be found for cheaper. I've heard as low as $4 CAN. The box gives you 6 months membership and a permanent bling gnome (Praise be to Geebus). This is the best deal for membership, by far! If you're cheap (sorry, "value oriented") and can find a box, go for it!
Retail Box Serial Code - only available outside the US and Canada. Gives you 6 months membersihp and a permanent bling gnome. You can buy the code >>>>here<<<< (https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/Store.pl) (won't be visible from inside the US or Canada).
Game Time Cards - Holy crap!!!! This is one of the easiest ways to buy the game! You can buy City of Heroes game time cards at various stores (every 7-11 in the US, for example) and apply the game time card code to your Dungeon Runners account. If you bought a $15 card, you'd get ~3 months membership from it, since Dungeon Runners is ~$5/month, whereas City of Heroes is ~$15. This is a great option for those who don't have credit/debit cards or don't want to create a recurring monthly subscription. Most people don't know about this option!
Monthly subscription via PlayNC.com. Various payment options and prices, depending where you live. ~$5/month via Credit Card or Paypal in the US. Additionally, US players can pay via Surfpin. ~$10/month via Cell phone or ~$7/month via Telephone.


About the Gnome - the only way,currently, you can get a permanent gnome is to buy the retail box (physical box in US or Canada, serial code outside the US and Canada). The gnome isn't currently available via other membership options. It may be available for purchase online at some point in the future.

Since I do not own a Credit Card and want to become a Premium Member, I find that knowing Game Cards for City of Heroes/Villains work for this game. I'm dissapointed to know that I can only get the Bling Gnome through certain Stores which most likely do not hold the game no more. I've tried multiple places to find a box to buy but can't find one, that is not online. Hopefully sometime soon in the future they will release a shop where you can buy the Bling Gnome for lets say $5 USD, or just give the Bling Gnome to the Premium Members after a certain time of them being one? :p

I'm hopeful that NCSoft will remove the IP block for Americans and Canadians so they can buy the retail box serial code in the PlayNC online store. It was there as a condition of the distribution of the physical boxes. Since the boxes aren't being produced anymore AND the serial code is still available outside the US and Canada, it only makes sense to make the code available in the US and Canada. I asked Steve about it and he said he'd ask about it - unfortunately, it's not his decision to make.

Hopefully they do make that possible for the online code, or buy 6 months of premium and get the gnome :D also I wouldn't like to see the gnome be active for only a set time if you get the gnome inside the shop, I don't like those types of things but it's not what I like.

Ripper, it is more likely for NC to stop selling the 6 month codes outside of the US than to release them there.

Does that work though? or will the codes not work on accounts flagged US/Can?
