I remember when I was a lower level a long while back, when Abby was the boss all the 100's fought, almost every 100 was a DPS fighter. Now everyone is a mage. (including me)

I tried creating a DPS fighter, and it failed hard. Now, I want to know, what did/do all of you (assuming there is one of you left in existence) DPS fighters do to be so good? What weapons, armor, skills, etc. did you go for, and where did you put your stats? I'd like to be a DPS fighter in a world of people who only want Azza armor t3 pure fire and 2 RRoDs blah blah. <_<

Thanks.

Rainbow Armor: Incrusted Leviathan Carapace and Backwards Hydraskin Hat
These give you Strength, Melee Damage per Second, Melee Critical Hit Chance, Melee Attack Rating and some Endurance, and a bit of Mana Steal too.

Purple Armor: Gloves, boots and shoulders from the Scale Family who gives
+ Melee Attack Speed and +Melee Damage Per Second (these are awesome, makes a huge difference)

Rings: 2 x Sweetheart's Ring of Extra XOXOXO
Strength, Melee Damage, and a bit of health and mana

Amulet: Pacifier (Made from Genuine Virtual Materials)
Endurance, Health, more Mana Steal and +% Melee Damage

Alternative:
The Found One
Strength, Agility, Health and Damage Per Second

Weapon: Death by the Slice
Comes in different versions. I do think the one giving an equal amount of Agility and Endurance the best. Also gives +Attack Speed, +Slashing Damage and Damage per Second.

This set would give you (when gone Full Str) a max damage around 10,000 and health around the same amount. If you use the Found One instead of the Pacifier, you're Health would drop to somewhere between 8,000-8,500 but you're attack harder.
Also, depending of what stats you get on the 3 purple pieces you might need other combinations of rings or amulet. Or simply put some stats in something else than Str.

Best of luck to ya!

When folks were doing the DPS fighter, it was mostly full groups, so you could usually get by with 10k hp. You would need much more, I think, to do 1150 balz.

Also, back then scale purps were the only pieces with +speed, but now you can find it on crystal gear, so it makes sense to get the extra def rtg if you can find some pieces.

Many people also used double Headsplitters, which give + dmg, +% dmg, atk rtg, and crit chance, or they used double skullies which are basically the same except they give +health instead of atk rtg.

I haven't played actively for a while now but as i remember there isn't any other gear who comes even remotely as close in speed with Melee Attack Speed. I checked gear room at drplayer.com and didn't find any there either.
But I haven't been on much lately so I might very well be wrong.

All the fighter armors now come in + melee attack speed now (known as High-Strung) as do all the ranger armors coming in + ranged attack speed(jittery) and also all the mage armors can be found with + casting speed (deft).

This was all added last patch. However they also made nerfed versions that are 1/2 +speed 1/2 +casting speed which imo is kinda ridiculous on Fighter items.
