Fighter is probably the class I like to play the most, hes only level 10 right now. The reason I'm making this post is to ask the question that is in the title. My mage can take down groups rather fast and, drawing from previous posts, will eventually have the ability to out-tank a shield-sword fighter because of BSoL.

Rangers are supposed to be kings of single target damage if I'm not mistaken, and can also take down groups fairly quickly if speced correctly.

Is there anything in particular that fighters are supposed to excel at? I remember hearing that fighters are probably the best for farming bosses, is that true? I also think it would be cool to add a health regeneration component to strength, since the fighter is always in the thick of things, would also add to his/her survivability; just a thought.

If anyone could enlighten me on the fighter and thoughts on that regen idea I would appreciate it.

While I don't play a fighter (started as a ranger then went to mage at around level 40-50ish), any class can use the skill Heal Self (not other) to get the same boost as a health potion, but there has never been anything specific to fighters like a skill or attribute that adds a regen skill unless they wear a piece of armor or jewelry with the Regen x% Health modifier on it....

Remeber as a fighter the "space bar" is your best freind:)

Bogey progressed from warrior to battle mage to paper mage on the way to lvl 100 but I brought him back to warrior in the end:)

Pretty much just have fun with it:)

Well perhaps I got a little ahead of myself saying strength needed a health regen component, though I still like the idea I guess it isn't needed. I realized that when using pots it restores a percentage of health, and fighters having the highest hp with their passives, are able to restore larger chunks of hp per use of pots. I don't know if this translates into having to use less pots than other classes since mages can take down groups rather quickly and have BSoL and rangers have a high rate of fire and can kite if needed, given they have enough space to do so; monster bait doesn't hurt either. Perhaps in the end it is actually balanced. I'm glad I was able to sort this out, just needed to get it out of my head I guess.

By the way Bogey, your avatar is hypnotizing.

I am a Lvl. 21 fighter. I think fighters, rangers, and mages are equal because it doesn't matter your class you can still train in every class and use every weapon in the game if your at the right level of course.

Classes just determine your stats when you create your character. So.. more strength?

Basically it determines the skills you start the game with... the base stats for all classes are the same before modifiers.....10 str/10agi/10end/10int... some passives make adjustment to base stats. I think my warrior has a 1 int atm because you can't have a 0.

But yes basically for a fight you need more str for def and dam, agi to hit til Mad Melee skill becomes available, and enough endurance to survive long enough to kill everything around you:) A good mana steal set is useful once Flaming Buddie, Soul Rend, Cleave/Awesome Cleave become available.

I use mainly + att speed, + crit chance, and mana steal for my gear bonus's along with a lot of Str bouns's
