PvP Tips?
vB post 152286 - 02/15/09 02:06 PM

Hey guys!

now that i've been playing the game for a while i've set my eyes on starting PvP-- its actually kind of what i live for in online games.

So i was wondering if you guys could give me a run down-- i checked out the townstons but the PvP Tips guide is currently non existent and i got the feeling that the other pages fell kind of short too.

What are the do's and Don'ts? Common Builds? Must have Skills? preffered stats? What class currently dominates? What about preferred Gear? Is is possible To PvP effectively without all Rainbows? i noted that you'd want your gear to be about the same level as your character, and the rainbows i have are a several levels lower.

I want to PvP with my Ranger btw. Any and all information would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

I'm really not into PvP at all but there's a little at http://hdol.eu/builds_pvp.php

After reviewing what info you can find (there are a few builds and basic build info on thetownstons.com if you do some clicking), the best way to learn is to just jump right in.

You can pvp without 100% power (full rbs), but you will learn that it limits the opponents you can compete against effectively.

Expect to do a lot of losing at first, but just pay attention to the skills and the tactics being used against you. You'll notice that certain builds are more common than others for each class, and there are reasons for that, so you'll need to fill your inventory with gear to meet the varied situations.

I know I'm not being specific, but I think even detailed explanations fall short of personal experience.

good luck (and don't take it personally if you run into a lot of flapping lips and bad attitudes)

@Magnus- thanks i already found hdol though. :P
However, as i intend to PvP with a ranger the one end ranger example wasn't exactly helpful...

@Alien Yeah i figured as much-- thats usually the case. I figure i'll be sitting there with a character viewer and the game running for the first few times. :P

Thanks for the help guys!

Twinks are low level PvP'ers with full up-to-level gear. I think they have an advantage in Health or something (as I said, I never PvP so I really don't know) but on the other hand they don't have all skills who higher level players have. Someone it seems that Twinks are doing really good in PvP.

Twinks: DR Explanation: Low Lvled characters woth full RBS (mythics) and up to date gear.
generally the most common ones are rangers and mages. Most lie between lvl 10-15 although I have seen a lvl 23 claiming to be a twink. Although they lack some skills they can be effective due to a bit of overpoweredness <<sorry for dumb grammar. Most lvl 100s who do not have a twink dislike them (most not all)
Generally their reason for even existing is the ability to create one in a matter of hours.

How can you make one?
well it all depends on how long youve been playing. If youve been playing for a while most just use their mains to farm sissi or algor.
If your inexperienced you make a "deal" with a group to tag along without comning till the run is over..so you do not gain xp but you can still loot.

Now for advice. Im a bit experienced with fighting rangers so I can give you advice for them.
Even with the new skills most will still be using poison, if not poison then fire, so simply put on poison or fire resist. And use Banner of Foolish Bravery. It provides a nice fear resistance. Try to slow them down with knockbacks or debuffs.

Well hope this helps and hope it doesnt offend twinks or rangers.
