I've looked at the other threads and it seems that there is no simple path to follow for stats, is this true. Becuase so far the stats thing seems way more confusing then it should be.

Where you put your points for stats depends a lot on what you want to be good at. STR helps you hit harder, while AGI helps you hit faster and more accurately (and also "helps" mobs miss when they try to hit you). END keeps you alive by giving you more of health points. My fighter has her points in STR and AGI, and gets all END and INT bonuses from gear. It is working out well so far, though I'm starting to get too much INT compared to END.

So no, there is no simple path as such. At least not until you have figured out your playing style and what works best for you.

Agility affects ranged weapon damage and physical attack accuracy. It doesn't affect atk speed. Also, defense rating is what determines mob hit rate.

I won't repeat the various suggestions for allocating points, but just think of it this way:

strength for attack power
agility for accuracy
endurance for survivability
intellect for mana or to increase elemental damage (ordinarily, you don't want to put many points in intellect)

Basically, if you're not missing too much, and you're not returning to the graveyard every few minutes, dump everything that's left into strength. Once you get more faimliar with the system, some of those other threads will seem less complicated and you can experiment more confidently.

Whops. My bad. :o Thanks for correcting that!

That's what I get for focusing on my customer while I'm typing posts here... :D

That's one of the perks of the system; as long as you have the gold, you can re-set your points any time you want. :)

That's forgiveable Khaz, professional reputation is almost as important as online game mechanics. :p

But only almost as important, I should remember that! :D

In my defense though... doesn't AGI affect defense rating a little, or am I in the wrong game now?

And no Khaz, you're thinking of STR. :)

Heres a simple way: hold you mouse over "strength"(or any other stat) in you character sheet, it shows what it does.

So this is why a person shouldn't play three RPGs at once! The mechanics get confused :D

The Witcher is very good. (http://kickerblog.wordpress.com/2008/12/24/a-valid-excuse-for-my-absence/)
