Hey guys, i'm new to Dungeon Runners and got sucked into it the moment I played. My friend and I have been playing for free up until today and finally gave in and bought a membership. I tried pvp for the first time today and flat out just got pounded. I figured I would come here and ask for any knowledge and advice on how to build my character for both solo/party play and pvp since people in game are just straight up rude to me when I ask there. I also thought instead of sitting here posting all kinds of stats that my character had I would just screenshot my character page with my level, mana, and health in the background along with what I looked like. My ign is Relyts. Here's the picture: http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp123/tsarsenault/Relyts.jpg All help would be much appreciated guys! |

Well, first thing you should do is check out both HDoL.eu (http://www.hdol.eu/), and The Townstons (http://www.thetownstons.com/thetownstons/index.php/Main_Page). Then, we can talk more about builds you are interested in, help you if you don't get something etc. |

The screenshot was a good idea since the character viewers aren't showing some stats correctly. But, yeah, do a bit of reading then you'll be able to ask more focused questions. |

Ok, I took the time to check out the websites given and read in great detail the information given and these are the questions I've come up with: Do I focus more on Strength and Agility to up my attack power? What do I have to do to up my defense rating? For what I mentioned as far as what I want to do, what skills should I aquire? What kind of gear should I wear and what are they called? I know people get irritated with posts like these but I figured they're more precise questions that can be answered easily. I'd just like to say thank you in advance for whatever advice and knowledge is shared here with me. It's nice to have people in the community that are willing to take the time to go and get links and information to put into a post so help can be given to a little nubby like myself. This is much appreciated guys! |

Nah, most the questions are worth posting and asking, thing is.. many people expect mindless questions that are completely obvious. Yours arent, so let me answer them: Do I focus more on Strength and Agility to up my attack power? Agility raises your attack rating, strength your amount of damage you do. Attack rating is for hitting more often, which is quite handy. The trick is to find a balance, you can loose alot of damage by missing, but you cant put in all your points in agility, since then you hit always with very few damage. Many people, including very experienced fighters, use the following rule: 1H / 2x 1H -> 200 x level = balanced amount of attack rating. 2H -> 150 x level = balanced amount of attack rating. What do I have to do to up my defense rating? To increase your defense rating, you got to wear good armor, have plenty of strength (Which you probably already have, since it also boosts the amount of damage per hit), and possibly use items with +% defense rating, although I do not suggest that for lower levels due to small bonusses, often 1% or 2%. For a fighter, the blue and purple crystal armor sets have extremely much def rating, the dark and gold plate armors a bit less, and the incrusted leviathan carapace, or scale armor, has the lowest amount of def rating for fighters. So to be sure, its wise to use some crystal armor. Although Defense Rating is a minor thing to worry about in PvE, heres some more information: http://www.thetownstons.com/thetownstons/index.php/Armor_Rating For what I mentioned as far as what I want to do, what skills should I aquire? I dont know exactly what you have in mind here.. but at TheTownstons.com under Builds, and at HDoL.eu also under builds, they have plenty of pre-made templates for your character that work really well. If theres not something at either of those 2 websites you like, then specify what you like by posting again =) What kind of gear should I wear and what are they called? Same as question #3. |

Just one correction LegendRunner: For 1H weapons your Attack Rating should be around 100x your level... |

You don't want to go to far with str, though. Every class needs endurance to survive (or int in the case of a bsol mage). Defense rating only matters against fighters and rangers, so one important thing to remember is that you can't rely on one set of gear. Your inventory should be full of nothing but alternate pieces that address specific functions, e.g.- resistance pieces to counter mages, high def for fighters, etc. The problem is that there really isn't enough space in your inventory to carry gear for every situation, so you have to judge what's more important, but that's really something that just comes with time and learning to know your opponents. Some skills needed by all pvp'ers: heal self (that's a big one :p), Spontaneous regeneration (not needed much for fighters, but it's still good to have), spirit of the hare, all resistance spells, acidic blight. Speed buff- for fighters that's 1h/2h sviwel arm action (although at your lvl it won't have as great an impact). Holy roller is a fighter's best friend, but it's not available until lvl 20, so butcher/righteous stomp are good stuns. I can't tell you anything very specific about gear, because, like I said, your equipment will need to change depending on the situation. What I can say, though, is that you want your gear to be as close to lvl 13 as possible and of the highest quality possible, also, single stat gear gives the biggest total stat count- all of this determines your pvp power %. At 62% power, there's only so far that skill and experience can take you. |

From your screen pic the only thing I would suggest that I don't think has been addressed is I would dump the Granma speed weapon and use two 1hr's. The speed will really make an improvement in the game... especially soloing and pvping. Without any speed bonuses you will be swing two weapons with a .43 or .47 speed instead of swinging one weapon every .93 secs. |

Problem is, I have yet to find two individual 1h swords that wil give me those bonuses or better. Unfortuneately I don't have anything of value to trade for and I'm just under 200k in gold. I'm a level 16 at the moment and I'm trying to find new gear and such but with no luck. I said previously that I've looked into some of the fansites listed in the posts above and they did suggest gear but its almost impossible to find that particular gear or gear with those types of bonuses at my level. I tried putting a post up in the trading section of the forums. I've been checking this thread and heading everyone's advice and going back to my character and making changes. Thanks for the continueous advice guys! |

I would suggest putting sometime into Snow Chief runs. You should be able to come up with a descent group and use the +% to not only pad you bank roll but to hopefully find some nice new weapons:) Gary |
