Anyone Know A good Tanking build for fighterS? Ive been messing around with str and end stats and cant seem to find a good mix. Im only lvl 20 but does neone have a good build they can tell me or some helpful hints for building a tank. I play with 3 friends 1 mage and 2 rngers I was hoping I could biuld a big fat tank for them but i still die hella fast. We play on insane too so maybe this isnt possible. Also if its not possible, any tips for being a fighter in a set up like that>? Thanks for any help :) |

LOTS of Endurance. If you play in a group, you're the meatshield, and your job is more or less to make sure that the mobs focus on you instead of on the mage and rangers, since you have much better armor than they do. Your job is to draw the aggro and act as monster bait/meat shield while they kill the mobs with their ranged attacks. So you will need lots of END. That will get your HP up, and if you also can increase Def Rating that makes you harder to hit, by getting the right gear and a high enough AGI, you'll be dying a lot less. And of course, get some good armor. Crystal armor has good bonuses to END and t your health as well. I've been putting my char points into STR and AGi as I have leveled up, and have relied on my gear for END bonuses. You can do it that way, or distribute your points differently. Either way, you will need both STR, AGI, and END high up there to be successful as a Fighter, and you may find that you spread your points too thin if you use them on all three. Others will probably tell you otherwise. My method has worked for me though, which is the main reason I recommend it. :) |

As Khaz said, plus remember that you need about 100 x Your Level in Attack Rating (you get that from AGI) if you wield 1-handers and 150 x Your Level in Attack Rating if you go for 2-handed weapons. The rest you can spread as you like between STR and END. |

A tank title is almost like a genius title for a mage. Which means nearly all stat points and gear bonuses go to end. Everlasting is the highest end rank, like all knowing for a mage which is about 90% or so of all points are in end. PROBLEM - mad melee mastery will not work with the title and str and agi is so low that all you can pretty much do is be a big monster bait turkey leg and take all the hits while your friends do the killing. I suggest a more balanced approach, when I leveled up around that level, I alternated 1str 2 agi 2 end, then 2 str 1 agi 2 end and about every 5 levels or so added in a magic point. One strategy is to have your friends use monster bait (rotate as one leg drops, another one puts one up) and jump in the middle of the bait and "tank" as the others use ranged attack. This will work best for melee goons. For ranged goons, I would use the same strategy. Except for one problem, you will have to chase a goon to kill it. This moving around makes it difficult for your ranged attack buddies to make their hits with the goon moving around so much. Maybe pick one and go after it, butcher and holy roller will help knock them down and unnerving shout will slow them down. When one ranged attacker is left, let the mage and rangers take it out. Maybe this will help... or just add to the confusion... not sure. Hope it helps and good luck. As for farming all the time at low levels, it's good if you need the money. But if you're going for mythics, one thing to remember is that it is nice to wear all mythic gear, but after 5 levels, a purple item will give you the same stat boost and after 10 levels, a yellow will do the same. So, unless you plan on staying at level 20 for a long time, you'll outgrow the mythic faster than the time it took to get the drop. |
