Do you own a Posse? Read this!
vB post 142883 - 10/15/08 03:31 PM

Fellow Guild/Posse leaders, its finally done! What?! Yes! No.. WHAT is finally done? Well...

Right at this moment, the system is online which will make it possible for YOU to make your own Guild wiki page! Well thats special! Some of you might think.. "I already have a guildwebsite!" but thats not really the idea.

The idea is that all guilds have a page that all are stored into one big database. Sort of acknowledging your existance as well as letting you get members that search for a cool guild and pick yours out of the database.

How to make this? How to let my page blow the guildless folks sitting in front of the computer away? Well, to be honest.. its extremely hard to do and ermm..

Well.. it was extremely hard for me.. that is. NOT for you! Theres just a few things to do.

Step 1. Go to http://www.thetownstons.com

Step 1.5 BE SURE you are logged in (Here) or make an account first (Here )

Step 2. Move your mouse to the left and click on Help in the menu.
Step 3. Go to the Guild Guide (Link for lazy people)
Step 4. Read the page.
Step 5. Copy the code, the text with lines around it.
Step 6. Use the fill-in-thing at the top of the page to make your page.

ATTENTION: Please make the name "Guild:ThisIsMyGuild". with the Guild: namespace in front of it.

Step 7. Paste the code into the edit box you see appearing.
Step 8. Start editing it as described.

Step 9. Done? Press save at the bottom, and DONE!

You may remove the text within the <!-- --> parts, ofcourse.

How many people who form posses even read these boards and how many of them would sign up on your site?

If someone is motivated enough to put togther a guild they probably know about his web site. Townston's is a great site that he puts together to help people. What is the point of your pointless question. Show a little respect man.

Well, basically its a way to promote your guild for free. If you got your own guild, you want it to get big, known and fun too right? Well, this probably helps achieving those goals.

No whining why people would do it, but why people still didnt did it.

My posse is just to signify myself and my alts, so I, for example, don't really have a need for promotion or a webpage.

But I think it's a great tool for those that do, so nice work, LR. ...more leaders will migrate over, I'm sure.

Maybe I don't want to promote my guild
