MythicalJeff has passed away
vB post 140981 - 10/02/08 12:31 PM

Jeff Freeman, better known here as MythicalJeff, passed away last weekend. He was not very active on the forum, but he was the author of the original forum avatar generator that so many people used before the avatar sizes changed. Jeff was a lot more than just a contributor to the community here; I am not nearly as qualified to talk about him as some of his friends and co-workers however.

Sorry if folks think this is in the wrong area of the forum, it feels most appropriate to me.

What a tragedy . Best wishes and condolences to his family, friends and others he touched in his lifetime.

I saw this news a day or so ago and just didn't know what to write. Thanks for posting this, Anson.

I never knew Jeff Freeman, and out of respect for those who did know him and love him I will not pretend to grieve him when I don't. I have however lost loved ones, and though I know it's inevitable I still hope that no one else ever has to go through it.

So my thoughts go out to Jeff's family and friends, even though thoughts from a complete stranger probably won't mean much to them.

I didn't know what to say to this post.

It reminded me of the mortality that we all suffer from. Made me very sad for a few hours thinking that over.

So my reply is my favorite song about such things:
