Mutant Mania Massacre
vB post 139923 - 09/24/08 07:46 PM

Afrter testing this on both the PTS and live serers I have came to the conclusion its not worth the trouble. Now while it is fun for chaos its just too much to handle and on insane it expends more money in potions than you get returned. Knocksbacks galore, + fear, plus poison+ alot of monsters crowding you making you slower. It just isn't worth it IMO.

Did you try it solo or with a group? Its not impossible that they made a dungeon that forces you to be in a group.

Just thinking here, i could be wrong.

He's speaking of the boss-room in the new dungeon, MutantMania.

You can solo it, there's a trick to it. You can't just run in and throw yourself over everything. But on insane (like most bosses) it'll be to hard.

Hmmm, I seem to have no trouble doing MMM on insane whatsoever sure it may take a bit of time but I'm still pulling in over 1 mil a run.Of course I'm a mage...If you are a ranger you may have problems.

I'm sure there's some trick that will make it easier, but playing a mage) on extreme, I made about 1 mil gold and about 8 purples, got a rb from the rotty clone, but I had to refill pots and it took something like 10 minutes or so. Compare that to 1150 Balz, and it's no contest.

I think the gold to items ratio should be adjusted for MMM. Gold is great, but I already have nearly 100 mil... I'm looking for rbs...specific rbs to be exact. Unless some new strategy arises to make MMM comparable in rewards to Balz, I'll be running the new boss only as a means to change things up every now and then.

*directs KoC to his signature* Thanks for the offer, but I prefer to do Balz solo for obvious reasons.

Unfortunately, those comments are a red flag to me:

1) I'm of the opinion that no boss should be trivial for a solo player on Insane. The encounter should be, well, insane! It should involve high risk and death in order to justify the reward.

2) If doing this is significantly easier on a higher difficulty setting with one class than it is for a lower difficulty setting with another class, that indicates potentially severe imbalance.
