This has happened to me two times yesterday.

I was playing around with my character, just trying out different builds. I re-spec and put all my points, but I change my mind at the last few seconds and I try to 'save' some points to relocate them. The timer ends and lets say I have about 50 points that aren't allocated. I use the remaining points. After a while, I see a "+" icon on the lower right, like I leveled up. Turns out that I just automatically re-spec'ed again, but the points that were left earlier on the first re-spec were left alone. For example, when re-spec'ing, normally you'd get all 10s for base stats, but what happened with the 'auto re-spec' is that I'd get something like this:

Str 10
Agi 75
End 30
Int 10

and i'm left with some points to allocate. It's not like a 'cheat' or something so you'd get more than the allowed stats because the stats automatically placed are subtracted from the stats you can still distribute. I also lose gold when these automatic re-specs happen.

I believe it happens when the timer ends and I still have points left. Is this a bug, or is it a price to pay for not distributing points fast enough. ._.

May I clarify a few things (For myself)?

Basically your saying this:

1) Choose to respec (Gold is taken) and all points are given to you for distribution
2) Distribute all points
3) Change your mind and remove some to distribute at a later time
4) Respec Timer Runs out
5) Use remaining points
6) After some time you notice that the Level Up/Respec Plus sign is next to Karl
7) Notice that not all points are in the "Points remaining" but are instead distibuted to stats already

Your conclusion: The game is automatically selecting Re-Spec for you and removing the required gold on its own. However, it is not dumping all the points in to the "Points Remaining" pool but is instead leaving some stat points in the 4 base stats.

Am I reading this correctly?

QUESTIONS:
1) Were you able to add and remove points at will on the "Automatic Re-Spec"?
2) Did you notice if the timer was counting down on the "Automatic Re-Spec"?
3) Do you have a time frame or estimate of time between steps 4 and 5 above?
4) Do you have a time frame or estimate of time between steps 5 and 6 above?

Answers :

1. I couldn't remove points that were already automatically placed.
2. It was counting down.
3. A few seconds after the re-spec timer runs out, I immediately distribute my 'saved' points as I intended them.
4. I usually notice it within a few seconds or a minute. Didn't pay much attention to the timeframe, but for sure it was real immediate.

Hrmm, I have been trying this a bit lately but since I sometimes forget to set it up the way it happened to you I can't be sure I'm getting it right every time. I haven't seen it yet.

Did this perhaps happen on the PTS server. It seems like there are a few wonky issues on there right now.
