How do you go to a PTS server?
vB post 137039 - 09/06/08 12:53 PM

How do you go to a test beta server? I go to world selection but it's only PVE and PVP.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found it now thanks.

If there's more who wonder this in the future:

What is the PTS?
Dungeon Runners is made by the help of all us who play the game and through the PTS (Public Test Server) you too can help out. In there you will find all the new things who'll come out in the upcoming patches for the game. The PTS is simply a server where you can test the game for bugs and try out the new features.

The Vegas Philosofy
What happens on the PTS stays on the PTS. No matter what you do there will never reflect on your characters on the normal servers so you don't have to be scared of blowing all your gold on new skills if you feel like trying out a different class there, or bying everything you see to try out any new equipment.

Can't login?
The Devs take a copy of the player database everything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks (sometimes months even) before any new major update (chunk) for the PTS so if you don't have a character there, or feel like you're much lower level, it might just be that your character either was created after they made the copy or that you've level'd away a lot.
Also they might need to make a new copy in the middle of testing so any progress on the PTS might be lost.

How to get the PTS
It's easy. Just download the file called "DungeonRunnersPTSSetup.exe" from the Dungeon Runners FTP and make sure to choose "Install a new instance of this application" when asked so that you don't install it over the regular game.
You will find the PTS through the ordinary PlayNC Launcher when you're done.

Anything else?
Yup, don't forget to report the any bugs you might find in the Public Test Server Discussion section of the forums so that the great developers of this game knows what to fix before the chunks goes live.
