DR Visions (Maps)
vB post 136655 - 09/03/08 06:42 AM

Hello DR Fans and Gamers,

Iam at the beginning to create a real tiny program to help other gamers to find there way in the game with some maps.

The following facts are a reason why i wanna do it to the end:
The most Maps are randomized BUT (!) even the most Entrances and People are around a special Area and the more People and Entrances are in the Map the random mode is nearly none randomized positions.

This tiny program showing you the maps of some dungeons and locations but till now only some parts cause iam new to Dungeon Runners ... and i really love this game and support them cause iam a Member for 6 Month with a lovely Bling Gnome.

The next State comes up the next weeks cause i wanna wait for Build 138 (but only if it appears in the next 2 weeks)

I hope you like it and maybe you help me with some screenshots i need to bring this project to full power.

Version 1.0 (Build 135) - Download (1 MB)

Nice Greetings from Germany,

Lord Calf

Just ran a full scan on this file from http://virusscan.jotti.org/ -- everything appears clean. I've also run a full scan with updated NAV and SS clients. As always, use at your own risk.

Tried to run DR Visions.

It crashed immediately.

Error message:
DR Visions.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Other than that, all it seems to be are screenshots of several levels...
Not very useful at all since the dungeons in Dungeon Runners are all randomly generated anyway.
Kind of makes a screenshot of the level itself (for navigation purposes) a moot point.

1) Its a simple Program without any packages needed maybe you can say me when the program chrashes cause i really dont know why this error appear.

2) If you read my description about the randomized areas and positions you understand why i show these dungeons. To let you know again - The Random System is nearly NONE when you see NPC's and Entrances not the way to them self.

3) I checked with McAfee and Kaspersky (The Worldwide No1 Virus Scanner and its all clean and so secure)

Ok, that version opens up.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm still trying to figure out how this thing is going to be useful, since each map is going to be different each time you run through a dungeon.

Making an 'atlas' or map of the areas that simply cannot be accurate since they change every time you play, to me anyway, seems like a waste of time and effort. Maybe I'm missing something...

I tried to describe it to you two times on the board now i want to do it especially for you again...

the Maps theyself are randomized BUT:

- NPC's and Entrances are nearly at the same position
- The Levels and Leveldungeons and some Quest Locations are in the program and even Outposts with there NPC's
- the size of the Dungeon are nearly the same

and the main fact -> more locations and NPC's means less randomized areas or dungeons like Algernon Lv1

I understood what you meant the entire time, but I really don't think a program is necessary for it. I commend you for wanting to do something great for the community, but this seems like a waste of time and effort.
