Screen Graphics Corruption
vB post 136587 - 09/02/08 08:32 PM

I don't have any graphics corruption issues when playing other games like UT3, CoD4, Gears of War etc. but for this game I've noticed some weird graphical issues.

It doesn't always happen and I've set everything at medium, but sometimes the screen graphics get really badly corrupted, with holes or dots and small strange squares appearing all over the screen. There seems to be some lag too.

I have vista home premium 32 bit, Intel Core2 Duo @ 2.5GHz, 4GB Ram, 256MB 8600 GT. Latest drivers installed.

Anyone else get graphics corruption sometimes whilst playing Dungeon Runners?

Not on that setup. On a weaker system with uber-crap for a graphics card, yes, I occasionally do. I assume you have removed and reinstalled the driver to make sure you don't just have a corrupt install?

Also, latest driver is not always the smoothest and best driver for a game... try rolling back one step and see if anything changes.

You wouldn't be overclocking your graphics card would you? This sounds like artifacting from an oc'ed graphics card. It might help if you could post a screenshot.

No, I'm not overclocking, and I don't get it with other games.

The problem's kind of rare and it's happened only twice in a couple of days, so I'm not sure what to make of it.

When it happened, it looked as though my GPU was damaged which made me really worried and I couldn't really do much apart from reboot. After I rebooted, everything was ok. Very strange.

I might just put it down to a random game glitch that sometimes happens.

Ah, I see. DR gives your computer indigestion. It just needs to burp once in a while.

This is interesting. Even though I never experienced them in other games, I would notice strange graphical glitches that occurred only for Dungeon Runners, including checkerboard type artifacts and BSoDs that mentioned a graphics driver problem (even though I have the latest official drivers).

After the new patch, I've not noticed any of these problems (knock on wood), so just wanted to say kudos to the patch developers!

Good that it is fixed. Just in case it is the problem I am thinking of , when was the last time you did computer maintenance? Basically blowing out your computer and monitor with a can of air.

Well, it's a new computer that I just got a couple of months ago. What's the problem that you're thinking of ? Overheating ?

I didn't experience any graphical anomalies with other more graphically intensive games like Crysis or Gears of War.

With my computer and how dusty it is in the house I need to blow it out at least every 3 or 4 months.

As you said though it probably isn't a problem yet.
