Ranged Damage and "Steal" questions
vB post 136549 - 09/02/08 06:14 PM

I have 2 questions and I won't be my usual wordy self:

1: Do spells (such as Fire Bolt) count as Ranged Damage?

2: Mana/Health Steal...how do they work (physically hitting an opponent or any damage said opponent takes)?

No. Ranged damage would be considered your actual ranged weapons, crossbow, guns, shotguns, etc...

Should be any non-spell damage. All ranged and melee weapons get the effect.

If i am wrong, feel free to correct me.

So essentially, as a mage, I don't care about mana/health steal or +X range damage?

Thanks

Basically, nope. They don't mean much to you. Damage reflection, both melee and ranged, tends to be nice though.

And HP/Mana regen bonuses are very nice as well...saves you a lot on potions and shortens your 'down time' as you wait for your bars to regen.

Yes, unless you're using BSoL. Since the skill buffers the damage you take, the reflected damage is lower.

Mages also don't need +ranged attack rating - spells never miss but can be resisted, there isnt anything you can do about that though.
