I wanted to say thanks to Stephen and all the devs that work so hard to keep DR going.
I just got my retail box today and this game just amazes me what they have done with the game,the bling gnome is awesome and it really helped to sell my friends on buying the retail box.

A great game and community at a great price what more could a person ask for.

You know, it's more often the game that fashions the gamers and not the other way around. So, dependant on the community a new player can either become a trash-talking bastard or a good, mature player. This game has one of the better communities...in general.

Sometimes people give in, under the pressure of other offensive cretins and return the favor tenfold, just increasing the overall heat in the community. Don't flame back, regardless how well-written and spelt your response is. You're still on the same level as them.

I agree. I have been guilty of loosing my temper in game and here. As one long time user put it "be glad Necro has a short chain and cannot reach through the computer screen." Or something to that effect. In retrospect, it is silly and a waste of time. However, sometimes people hit a switch in others.

Yeah, plus there's this pleasant, albeit short lived, adrenaline burst when you get to call someone an ass-flavored hole when they deserve it. Or even when they don't. Just to be clear, this is very wrong of us. Unless they are really, really acting like an ass-flavored hole. 'Cause then you sort of have a cosmic responsibility to explain to them out of sheer kindness how their face resembles gelatinous plumber crack.

...Not really. I used to do that, but one time I stopped and thought to myself: "Why am I even reacting to this?". Really, think about it. You're being insulted. By someone you don't see. Don't know. Can't hear. It's just a bunch of pixels forming offensive words. Believe me, you'll feel really stupid when you realize what's really provoking you.

You either ignore them or ironically confirm you're everything they call you, a loser, imbecile, noob, troll, @$$hole, etc. They'll drop it either way.
