Ok, enough complaining. Welcome to the forums and for a first post, I'd say you did a really great job. I've gone with the map for so long so I've never even thought of if there were a dungeon-guide such as this on the forums before. Keep up the good work.

I wouldnt really call that a guide i mean you just copies from Townstons, plus it doesnt really help much i mean everyone knows that

Not everyone knows all that, we do get new players you know. And I certainly hear questions almost every day about what boss is for what dungeon or what is the next dungeon, etc.

Agree, and that is why this post weren't in vain, even though the info is out there already. Dungeon Runners still haven't gotten a section for the fansites on their main site so far from all knows about them all, and the forums is usually the source for information in most games.

Just a thought:

When giving information, literacy and spelling counts.
Misspellings of places and mobs in an 'informative post' just tend to give a 'lack of detail' impression to the quality information you seem to be trying to convey.

Yeah, I'm nitpicky, but sheesh, if you're gonna post information that's already out there, at least copy it accurately...

Especially considering that there is absolutely no obvious way of getting to the already existing guides from the forums. There is not even a sticky in the Player Guides forum with links to the most comprehensive fan sites or guides.

When the easiest way to get to a comprehensive guide is to search the forum until I find a post by Lord Magnus, and then click on the HDol.eu link in his signature, it doesn't matter how good the guide it, it is going to be useless to most new players because they will never find it. One of these new players decided to change that so the information would be easier to find. What's wrong with that?

BFK, I'd say those errors you so diligently listed means the OP did not copy anything. He/She probably posted from memory, based on information gathered from other forum posts or from in-game chats. And that in turn proves that guides like these are needed in the forums. The OP was actively looking for this information, and was unable to find links to the existing guides on any official game pages.

So... are we under the assumption that people who play Dungeon Runners have no idea how to use "Google" and type in "Dungeon Runners" in the search field--wait, never mind...don't answer that.

Um... no. Not quite. Think of it this way:

1. Recall how stupid and lazy the average human being is.
2. Recall the basics of how statistics work.
3. Realize that about half the human race is even more stupid and lazy than average.
4. Weep or drink, your choice.

Another way of phrasing it is: If we made it as easy as possible to find all the excellent DR guides that already exist, the number of repeated and (to severla forum members) obvious questions, would probably decrease quite a bit. What's the point of making it difficult for newcomers to find out about the game, when making it easy for them indirectly makes it easier for everyone else?

Heh, why DO you need a dungeon guide for THIS game anyway? It's much easier to rampage through a dungeon, kill a boss, take the portal to another dungeon and click on that dungeon's outpost's obelisk to save the waypoint...

As for side dungeons...well, you have waypoint scrolls and compasses, right?

Well, it's good to have a overview of it all. Level-caps, side-dungeons and all.

Kinda blows away the joy of exploring, all these dungeon descriptions, side level and mob information and implemented boss strategy tips. No surprise whatsoever

And we all know gamers are WAY above average...

Pity there isn't a "c) all of the above" option...

Well, at least as far as lazy is concerned we are not. Brain power varies quite a bit though. Halo anyone??



But some people like dungeon guides. If you prefer the joy of exploring and looknig for things yourself, then your not likely to go up online looking for the guides that are available and can explore to your hearts content. If you do, obviously you're not too keen on exploring it yourself are you?

Some corrections: (just barely glanced at it but there are some)

Rattletooth's Lair no longer connects to Townston--it dumps you back into Dew Valley. The only way to get to Townston now is to use the obelisk in Dew Valley.

Cog's Gearbox (off of Algernon Lev 3) no longer exists.
It's now Capwn's Family Restaurant

There's probably more corrections, to it, but that *IS* an awesome map, and it helped me out a lot when I started playing oh so long ago, and should help anyone who's looking for insight as to how the dungeons / levels / themes and stuff goes.

I have to give you major congratulations on the bigfatklingon. I couldn't stop laughing.

As per the number at the bottom it was accurate as of build 110, things have been added and renamed (Shadows side levels etc.)
I couldn't find any current maps for this build, maybe I'll make one of my own after C4 comes out.

Yeah, I have my own maps based loosely on the ones on the web, in a spreadsheet file. Still adding, modifying and tinkering with it tho...maybe I'll post my stuff online after C4 goes live as well.

Well, I for one say that there are never too many dungeon guides!! Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks!

JoeB's map is wonderful and a jewel of graphic work. Some people do have trouble printing it out.

The Dungeon pages at thetownstons.com are masterpieces of information and designed to print the primary map and outline of one dungeon on one page.

HDoL.eu has great information in another way of posting it.

And this guide posted here is a quick and dirty way of having the most basic information right in front of you.

And -- those of you who want to explore on your own, why just close your eyes every time you see the words dungeon guide!

We at http://www.thetownstons.com have been working hard on updating the dungeon pages. AFAIK all dungeon maps, outlines and details have now been updated to conform to Build 137. Quest pages have also been updated to include the Shadow's Embrace Sides and Quests, Dew Valley Newcomer Quests and the Algernon Sides and Fizz Rock Quests.

A wiki is always a work in progress and we need all the help we can get. YOUR contributions would be appreciated.
