Fastest way to get KC-s?
vB post 135671 - 08/27/08 11:42 AM

I have gotten most relics and KC-s from Vergim vexation, so i would like to ask if there is better place to get relics/KC-s?

Keep trading in common relics, do quests, move on to the next dungeon. Sadly, there is not, at this time, a reliable and cost-effective KC factory.

At level 75+ you'll get 5 KC's every time you kill Ratsputin. Until you're high enough level to farm him, it's just as Khaz says. Some side-dungeons are smaller than the ordinary dungeons though, and can very well have relic-chests at most of the instance-spawns. You could find one of those and run over and over.

Yeah, it's a quest you can redo as often as you like and it don't matter what difficulty you play on, as long as you kick his butt all the way back to hell and then you'll just go to the Townston Commander and get your reward. Some 25k gold and 5 KC's. Hm... In 35'ish levels that is, for you.

By the time you get to 75, KCs will be more of a footnote. Besides, has anyone actually seen RB Sam since the last update? I ran into Sally once since then, but not Sam -- and I've even resorted to Sam hunting recently.

For kc's I would always run the third floor of an instance over and over for kc's and finding rb sally by the time i got sick of looking for sally i had well over 2000kc's at lvl 50 or so.
As for Mythic Sam I saw they had him on W1 on 8-25 selling jewelery and on W7 on 8-22 selling shoulders (at like 4:00 am CST).

I've played the game in two ways, one farming bosses for gold for all of the cool skills and to buy rainbows (I didn't know they were so expensive!) and two, running dungeons, preferably in groups for xp and fun reading and completing quests. I've heard that there is nothing to spend money on later in levels and that people end up with millions sometimes and so I figure I could spend a few.

But for KC, I have several hundred in the bank now and have only seen rb sam one time in months of playing. And the items I get from the dealers are usually yellow items and from the great drops from bosses, I'm doing better than I would farming for kc. I guess what I'm saying is that you're better off not worrying about kc. Don't spend any if you get them until you see sam but I wouldn't farm for it.

You'll find that the mini-levels off of main levels have lots of small mobs and sometimes as many as 4 relic chests per instance.
Their great for farming coins and exp though they suck for items and gold on anything but insane.

I found the best way to farm King Coins is turn the Difficulty up to insane right before you open the chest. You can get 3 or so relics per chest this way. If you run the rest of the dungeon in normal it goes a lot quicker.

That would only work if the chest spawns a Guardian, if the chest just drops the relic it should be set to normal.
That's assuming they work the same way loot chests work, chests will 'spawn' just like monsters, it doesn't mater if you set insane if you spawned them on normal.

Seconded. The dungeon that was already created, and everything in it, will remain at the old difficulty setting. Nothing will turn Insane until you either reset that instance, or create a new one.

The monsters in a dungeon don't always spawn all at once. You can change the difficulty in a dungeon and see the results as long as their are some monsters yet to be spawned. HDoL is a good example.

I know this to be true because I used to go into Ratsputin on insane walk up to the locked gate then set it to normal and all the mobs would be normal while ratti would still be insane.
