Difficulty setting.
vB post 135617 - 08/26/08 11:39 PM |
I have a noob question that I'm sure has been asked before many times, so please have mercy. :P I know that upping the difficulty ups the loot, but does it lower the experience? My brother and I were playing on insane and we got really nice stuff, but the level just really seemed to drag on, and we were only level 8. Is insane just used for getting mythic weapons while normal is used for experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Difficulty setting does not change xp. If you were at a boss fight like Sissi that fight just isnt worth much xp so that may explain why it dragged. -------------------- http://threeplanetssoftware.com/software/dr/vorlir |

You'll get mythics from all difficulties, the chance is just bigger as you get more loot. And mythics don't start to drop until after level 15 but it's all random. I got my first at level 16 with one character and level 45-something with another. Depends of how you play. More farming bosses on raised difficulty gives better chances. -------------------- ♫ ♪ "May The Rainbows Drop As Cows From The Sky" HDoL.eu - Horrific Domain of Legend - Your source to Dungeon Runners I am temporarely banned to a 1.2k Sempron with 256mb ram, no graphics and Kubuntu... |

I was going to say essentially what Ripper said in that the increased difficulty, higher hit points of the monsters, higher damage out put of the monsters, etc. give the appearance of being less exp because you aren't killing a many in the same time. I realized that a few weeks ago when I started running things on higher levels to get a little more loot and what I thought was an increase in exp. When I noticed the difficulty setting increased everything except exp, I still kept playing at the same level for a bit before I realized that I wasn't gaining much in the way of exp because I was moving through the dungeon slower...I became a Dungeon Crawler versus a Runner So long story short...increased difficulty slows you down thus it seems like less experience. And don't forget, when you add a member to your party, the difficulty automatically goes up without you having to change the setting (though you still can change it to make it yet even harder!!!) -------------------- Lyllia the *insert whatever adjectives the game feels like displaying at this time* Magess. |
