I've been wondering this for a while...
I'm a 100 almost all int mage (enough end for 4k hp) and use BSoL. I was wondering, is the damage from the skill retribution/melee reflection on items reduced by using BSoL? Is it reduced by 80% then reflected back or is it normal damage without BSoL being considered?

Have had mixed answers regarding this question in-game.

Good question. I would think it disregards bsol, but *shrug*.

Seems as if it will take nothing short of a Dev to answer this >.>

The reflection is based on the damage actually applied to your health. So, BSoL reduces the effectiveness of reflection.

I did some testing with this and for me...I prefer to run many of the bosses (especially Abby) as an endurance mage with a high melee reflect when soloing, rather than using BSOL. In a group setting, I do suggest sticking with BSOL, but just not using Retribution as it is not worth the skill slot.

Interesting, I would have said otherwise, with 200% reflect Balz hits me for 2000 damage and himself for 3000+/-.
I guess the damage indicator only shows damage taken, not damage dealt.
