I read that the gnome can sometimes drop loot other than gold?? Has anyone seen that?

Yes, gnome can poop out loot. Purps, and sometimes even RBs!
Depends on two things: how much loot did he... err.... consume, and ofc, your luck

Well...so far, since Bling Gnomes became available:

85 Levels
00 Drops other than Gold.

I generally pull groups back to the same spot to create a ginormous loot pile before getting the Bling Gnome to eat/convert...still have had zero luck in him turning stuff into anything other than Gold.

Your best bet is boss farming on insane in a full group. You are lvl 85? I would say Balzack is the place to go. You can increase your chances by bringing the four rooms of mobs to the central area, then pulling zack to that spot as well.

My gnome has pooped 3 purples so far, but there was so much loot on the ground that I'm pretty sure I had to push the button twice...(*ponders and wondering if that would be like having to flush the toilet twice after a really big poo*). No rainbows yet though.

According to Anson the amount of loot makes no difference, it is a roll of the dice, so basically you are actually minimizing the chances of a purple or rb by grabbing mobs all to one spot. My buddy got one rb out of his gnome and it was after it ate 2 greys, so far on the insane balzack runs with mega loot 0.

Anson corrected himself, the amount of loot does matter.

It's Roughly the same chance as getting a RB the regular way...about 1 in 300 which those odds go WAY down based on the amount of loot you get when using the Gnome.

The more loot, the better the odds.

I've personally gotten about 5 or 6 RB's full grouping on Balzack on insane when the mobs are all pulled to 1 area and killed.

Get your loot consistently over 25-30k per gnome use and you'll start to see the RB's.

As Cthulhu says.

And it works like this: Every item transformed to Gold gets a roll for becoming a RB and they stack upon eachother, so the more items, the bigger the chance of an RB.

I think this system could need some tweaking though. It would be great if the purple/RB-chances where just a bit higher when someone is activating the Gnome-skill without being in a group. Many choose to run most of the dungeons solo and mainly group only for the boss-runs, and for all of them (probably some 90-95% of the player-base) the purple/RB-chance-function is just unnecessary.

As Anson said HERE
Quote:
I was wrong, I misremembered the code in question. Each time the Bling Gnome converts items, there is one roll based on the number of items, and the chances for that roll do indeed go up the more items there are. If you convert five items at once, your chances are indeed better than if you convert one item five times. However, the total gold value of the converted items plays no part in this - it's just the number of items.

I've gotten to date, 9 rainbows and an unknown number of purples from the gnome.

It took my gnome about 2 1/2 weeks before he had his first rainbow movement; to date he's maybe had 7 or 8. Although, lately I have not played nearly as much. Last night, while doing Balzy runs, the flood gates opened and he had 2 rainbow movements right in a row. I guess from lack of use he'd been a little ahem..backed up. I'm sure he's had countless purple drops that I didn't notice, but frankly I'm just as happy that he poos gold.

Regardless, I think they should raise his rainbow poop rate a factor or 2... for a $20 spell I think it could be upgraded just a little :P.

I don't think you know what you're asking for, since you obviously have no idea of the intense training program that Bling Gnomes go through, or the literally HUNDREDS of applicants that get cut from the Bling Gnome Training Academy.

Shown here, you can clearly see that only ONE of the hundreds of applicants to the BGTA has managed to achieve the first step in the stringent training process involved in becoming a Bling Gnome--wearing the 'Robes of the Sacred Poo':

Humiliating? Yes. But it ensures that your Bling Gnome will have the ability to undergo the extreme shame and embarasment of having to hang out with noobs and Dungeon Runners who suck.

One of the first thing a Bling Gnome has to learn is how to conduct his 'BUSINESS' without the need to resort to external means to maintain their hygiene. Shown here are the results of an unsuccessful attempt to 'convert' items:

As the trainee nears the mid-point of their training, as you can see in this photo, they are able to put their Bling Gnome skills to good use, even during practice sessions:

Unfortunately, some countries, like Germany, have outlawed Bling Gnomes. Shown in this photo, you can see the laws Germany has passed regarding Bling Gnomes:

Hope that sheds some light into why the drop rate of items is so low.

I find your most recent post in this thread, BFK, to be extremely humerous. In fact, upon hearing my reaction to said post, my father found himself compelled to knock upon my door in order to check that I had not developed a need for psychiatric care. Easing his distress, I explained the inspiration for the outburst and allowed him entrance into my room, so that he might partake in the amusement. He did so. After another episode of laughter, silence ensued, and, in silence, we agreed that the moment had passed. I ushered him out of the room and returned the door to its closed position; he, in turn, resumed whatever activities in which he had been previously engaged before my initial reaction. I, feeling the need to express my gratitude for sharing your humor with us, then commenced the drafting of this reply. Lcukily, this first draft was also the final, for I dislike the tedium of repetitious revision. In summation, I present this popular internet acronym:

Shakespeare... "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."

Ironically, it was a compliment to the just lawyers and judges who were muddling the plans of the evil man who spoke these words. But it's been used to curse lawyers ever since.

Yeah, no. It really took off in the human translation. The original Klingon was a little obvious:

"The first thing we do, we talk about Warf like he's really tough, but then every time the writers want to show how someone is powerful, the writers put them up against Warf and he gets his butt kicked, and it's like the writers don't even bother to realize that Warf doesn't win a single fight until sometime in season 7, but by that time we all just think Warf is a big weiner.
