Some of us were granted custom titles for wining forum awards or things. Will we be able to get them back or pick new ones?

yeah, i kinda liked that feature, gave me something to work for semi-out of game. it also helped people get to know who has been around and who just posts alot. those where neat, even though i didn't have one, bring them back!

I have brought this issue up with the folks working on the conversion. We'll figure something out to bring those back. I kinda miss mine too.

And what are the post-count-name-changes these days? They used to be in the forum help-files but there's not one this time.

Well, I see the pre-existing post count categories have been created again, but not custom titles. Shoot, I'd really like to go back to spelunking Karl's "Bad Cavern"....

On Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Edit Usergroup -> set "Can Use Custom Title" to "yes"

Bah. Quality, not quantity. I do not think titles should be based upon post count any way. We have been through some real tapeworms who only wanted a better title. Perhaps if they were based on the amount of time a user has actually been a member of the boards. Of course, still having the special titles such as the ones given out in last year’s forum awards.

Sounds like that would hook us all up -- not that I'd complain. But Rip's talkin' 'bout a special deal for a few people who were (voted?) the winners of the forum awards.

Soooo...as "necomatrix" said quality over quantity. It doesn't apply here, does it? :-(
I mean, it would be pretty original to see someone with a special title who has over 300 posts opposed to some thread lurker with +2000 posts who posts stupid, one-sentenced posts that barely contribute at all just for the sake of increasing that tiny number right of his avatar.

The truly unique titles were granted for special things, such as winning a forum award (linky) or doing something unique, like Wreker getting 10k PVP wins. They weren't awarded for just bumping counts, fyi.

I so badly wanted the 'biggest trolly d-bag' award, but it eluded me last time. I've been training harder this year, and as Gosh is my witness, I will be the d-bag's d-bag. You won't be able to utter the words 'summer's eve' without thinking Ting. If you haven't seen my work, you're missing out. Come and taste the experience. Taste the d-bag, and see if you don't agree.
