What do you think about it? Are you seeing any bugs or having issues with it? Do you like, like it, or just like it?

Feel free to let us know.

It will take a little getting used to, but I like it. I have not had any problems at this point, everything is quite smooth. Apparently it likes me, it gave me my old account back! No more Blasphemy!

I'm still seeing broken code for bold, italic and url functions in posts and signatures carried overfrom the old boards.

This is the same behavior from last week when the beta test went live...

Any ETA as to when it'll be fixed?

At least 'yall fixed the bug with adding an Avatar before releasing this....

EDIT: Just look at my signature below for an example

Thanks

Password usage change
vB post 133833 - 08/14/08 08:16 PM

The major change (other than swapping the entire forum software) is that passwords are now directly tied to your DR game account. Previously you could have a different password on the boards from your game account. Your old board password will no longer work. If you use PlayNC to reset your game account password, your password here will change as well.

Feel free to discuss any minor issues you might notice. If you find anything major, security related, or otherwise potentially sensitive please report it through http://support.plaync.com.

Thanks

Yep, it was evil 'ole me. This account locked up at some point and I could not get a reply. I made Blasphemy to speak with a moderator. I never actually got around to finding out what happened.

I see what you mean about the broken HTML code. Other than that it seems great.

Hmm, one question though. Will there be an option to stay logged in?

One last bug..... I *swear*...

How does one change their "location" in their account?

EXAMPLE: I want to change Location: R\'lyeh to get rid of the '\' but I cant see where this is done.

Clicking on User CP is no help...

Ok, I figured this one out. I had to change to the default Vbulletin skin and then on the left hand side of the screen I could see under "Your Profile", Edit Your Details. Which is not otherwise displayed

It appears that the default & Dungeon Runners skins do not allow this to be displayed.

Would be nice to see this fixed.

- Topics shows new posts/threads even if it were I who posted (Doesn't happen all the time, haven't figured out when it happens and not yet)

- I do NOT wanna subscribe to every dang thread I post in and having to go to User CP to remove it after every single post. (It feels important for that that this is fixed. I hope we don't get automatic mails every time someone has replied until this is fixed.)

But the new forums in general rules totally and I like it a lot better than the old one.

Loving the new forum. Two things:

The font color selector in the advance editor is not working (while the one in the quick reply editor is).

Are you really going to allow images in posts?

What Khaz said, but in private messages.

And speaking of private messages, is there a way to not automatically save a sent message or adding a signature versus having to uncheck the boxes each time?

Yes, just uncheck those two boxes under the text editor before you click submit.

I've seen the same things with the code in PMs as Lyllia.

I just found a setting in Options that will let you disable images in post Khaz. It's down toward the bottom or so along with showing avatars and such.

Just a couple of things that are annoying me....

I used to be able to just click on the thread title and I would be taken to the first unread post. This starts me at post 1 and I have to go searching for new posts. Long threads can make this a real pain. Is there a different way to do the same thing with the new boards?

After reading a thread, I backup to the list of threads. With the old boards, it would be sitting where I was at, now I'm at the top of the page.

The boards aren't scaling to fit my widescreen monitor. It seems so cramped.

That is all I can think of for now.

There is a button before the thread title when new posts are present. That will take you to the first new post.

I also have a lot of room, left and right. I thought maybe that was the intended design. *shrug*

As Alien said, to the left of the thread-name is a blue button with a white arrow on it. Click that and you'll go to the last unread post.

I think you missed my post, now 21 before yours with the answer to this.

http://boards.dungeonrunners.com/sho...9&postcount=12

Basically change to the default Vbulletin skin and you'll see the option on the left side of the screen you are looking for. The "default" and "Dungeon Runners" skins don't show this....yet.

EDIT: Been fixed apparently...

1.) Go to the User CP link in the upper left corner and click on it.
2.) Click on "edit profile" under "settings & options" to get to where you can change your location.

After going back to verify this info for you I don't see anywhere you can change your board name which is entered during the forum registration cuz you gotta use your DR Game sign in to sign in on the boards....

Why only 10 minutes to edit a post before it's locked? that's too low and not nearly close to the amount of time we had on the OLD forums.

PM's have a limit to 5000 characters. That sounds like a lot, but if you got a long message and reply with a long message, you'll pass that limit way to fast, especially if you wanna leave the senders old message so they easier get a view of what has been said. I just got to almost 7000 without any trouble at all.
I suggest this is raised to at least 10,000 characters.

<rant>

Don't get me wrong. I like some of the new features, but what's with the buttons and the icons? Is it some setting on my end?

I see ugly jagged white borders around most of the buttons, and the icons look like they were borrowed from Mac OS 7.1.1, circa 1989 (a good year, not counting Tiananmen Square, but hell -- the icons are older than most DR players).

With so much devs leaving the team, I think they had to make the new forum available for us as fast as possible, with most of the bugs worked out. I don't know if it's so simple that they just have to change icons to one of the same sets but with transparent edges (many, or most, icons and such often comes in sets for different backgrounds) or if they have to fix all of them by hand. (Shouldn't take more than an hour IMO).

Maybe they'll just go for a complete new set of icons. These light-blue ones really don't look good on the brownish background.

I don't mean to be pushy about this, but I was replying to a thread earlier and in the meantime I was logged out. I was under the impression that there was some sort of magical button that could easily be pressed to adjust the 'stay logged-in time'. If it's more complicated, or if there is some other reason that the devs want a shorter logged-in time, I'd be happy to zip up or hear the reasons or both. heh heh

It is possible that this feature may be a bit "buggy". There are a few glitches I have seen pop up at random. For example, I read all of the new posts the other day and closed the page. Upon logging in later, the same threads were marked unread. It was a bit of a fluke, as it only happened once thus far.

I first use the New Posts function and then go to Quick Links - Mark Forums Read when I'm done before I close the browser. That works.

Btw, I still don't see a 12 to 24 hour option in the Settings. We have 24 hour days over here and not two 12-hour halves. I'll just never learn that am/pm-thingy.
