I have the new ATi 4870 video card with 512 megs of video memory. I also have 3 gigs of ram and windows vista 32. It keeps saying my video card does not meet the minimum specs when launching dungeon runners.

Agree with Khazandra - probably the drivers.

try a clean uninstall using a tool like driver cleaner pro, then a fresh reinstall.

Also, please keep in mind that it's a relatively new card, so driver support, especially for Vista, might still suck (a year later and many Vista drivers still suck...).

If this doesn't work, I'd recommend you open an official support ticket.

You can also try rolling back to a previous driver. The latest driver for a card is not always the one that is best supported by a game. I once had to roll back my driver three versions, before a game that was a couple of years old would work. But once it finally worked, boy, was it pretty!

I've found that to be especially true with ATI drivers, unfortunately. Had that problem with City of Heroes for a while.

I assume the error message you're talking about it this:

"Your video card does not meet the minimum specification requirements to run the game. Please go to www.dungeonrunners.com for more information on the minimum specifications required to run the game."

That error comes up when we cannot load our textures properly on startup. It looks to me like your card should be able to handle our required texture formats without issue.

We're looking into this issue for that specific graphics card and will get back to you.

Looks like it is an issue with the HD4850 series cards. I just checked at home and I get the same error. I will be looking in to this tommorow.

Thanks At first I thought it was a DR issue, but looking in to it I noticed that other games where having problems on that rig, ( portal had texture issues, 3dmark reported lack of shader 2.0 support, XNA samples complained of unsupported texture formats ( sounds familiar? )). I tried reverting to an older version of the display driver, but no luck. I then tried a fresh vista install and that worked. Tomorrow I'm going to try to figure out how I can fix the issue with out reinstalling Vista.

What mother board do you have? Are you running two video cards?

So here is what I did to fix issues with my HD4850.

1. Removed my second video card ( hd2900xt used to drive more monitors ).

2. Uninstalled all ATI software using the uninstall all express option.

3. Checked to make sure that the device driver has been uninstalled and deleted. ( in the device manager ).

4. Restarted.

5. Downloaded and installed the latest ATI device driver WITHOUT ATI control center.

For some reason installing ATI control center messes up the driver.
