Are you sure it's not Blue Screen Of Death

It only happens when i choose a server game crashes and i get a blank blue screen (no writing on the screen at all) no error faults saying its my computer that has encountered an error like you would get with the "blue screen of death"

If it is a BSoD, what's the error message on it? It would look something like 0x000005E.

If the computer reboots too quickly for you to read it, go to System Preferences (in WinXP you can get there by holding the Start/Windows key and then press the Pause Break key on your keyboard), and to the advanced tab.

At the bottom, you will see "Startup and Recovery". Click on the Settings button, and on the screen that pops up, uncheck the little box next to "Automatically Restart", and then click your way by to the desktop on the Okay and Apply buttons.

Next time the system crashes to Bluescreen, it will stop there and let you read the error message. You can then take the first stop code (don't worry about the numbers in the parentheses) and put it in a Google search. The first hit should be a Microsoft KB article on that particular error.

And of course, you can always post back here with any questions you might have.

I am also having the same issues as the OP. There is no error whatsoever. Not really sure what else I can do. I have also updated all drivers. Using ATI Radeon x1050 series if that helps anyone. Thanks

If I was feeling ornery I would start arguing with you that a BSoD by itself is an error therefor there is one there, but I'm on my break and eating raspberry pairfait so I'm feeling un-ornery.

If there any text at all on the blue screen, or is it just a plain blue chunk? In addition to updating all drivers, have you verified that your operating system is fully up to date (and which one are you using?)?

Its not a BSoD. Its a blank blue screen that hangs for about 2 seconds before the PC soft reboots itself. I've come to believe that its some sort of incompatibility issue with certain video cards. In particular older ATI cards. Not sure of the exact cause. And no, turning off auto-reboot and attempting it again does nothing. It just hangs on the blank blue screen until you hard reboot the machine. We can run the game on any other machine we have around (all of which are either using onboard video or a Nvidia card). The error is only occuring while using the machine with the ATI x1050 in it.

[Edit]: SgtSlim is using Windows XP Pro Corp. Edition.

Stehla - have you tried installing different drivers? In particular, the third-party Omega Drivers for ATI are very good. I use them on a machine that has a Radeon X300 and the game runs flawlessly.

If you do install new drivers, make sure you cleaning uninstall the previous drivers, preferably with a tool like Driver Cleaner Pro.

Ripper's got a very good point. If the most obvious difference between the machines where DR works and the one where it crashes is the ATI onboard graphics, that's where you should start.

Reinstall the driver in Safe Mode, not normal. Less risk of conflicts.

We've reinstalled the drivers to no avail, rolled back, reinstalled, etc etc ad nausium. No matter though. The fix in this thread
http://boards.dungeonrunners.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=9628&an=0&page=0#Post9628
with the pipeline add under the user.cfg worked. Game runs as normal now. Thanks anyways.
