grouping
#70581 - 07/26/08 04:47 PM

This may sound dumb but here goes. When you play in a group do you pick up item drops right away and when inventory is full go back to town and sell them? Or do you continue through dungeon and pick them all up before you leave, using a waypoint to come back and get the rest of them? I realize just easier to use my bling gnome but get more $ if you sell things to Drykop. Always wondered about this, probably reason I haven't grouped yet. I don't want to piss people off by doing the wrong thing and make them wait for me needlessly.

Correct. Besides, I wouldn't be concerned about people getting angry at you in a group. This isn't a fast paced PvP game where your team depends on your speed, like Exteel. Just relax and have fun.

Caveat:

If you are just grouped while running levels, then this is correct. Most people will understand and expect that you'll bounce in and out for both items and quests.

But if you are grouping to farm, this may not be the best idea. Generally the idea behind farming is that you want to profit as much as you can in the shortest period. Depending on the group, there may be an expectation that you'll make one trip to town per run -- and that at the end just before reset. Other groups may make two or even three. Most groups will have people type ready (or r) when they are done, and if the others in your group are ready to reset after a single run to town, that's your cue.

There are certain general methods to grouping which people use. However, you would be far better suited to ask the specific people you group with. Communicate with them to determine how the run should go. This will help eliminate any confusion or agitation later on.

Shall be lifted — nevermore!

I thought someone said Geebus gives the same amount as selling to the merchants. If this isn't true, how much of a difference is there?

I haven't done any experimenting, but I'd say it's about half of what you'd get. On the other hand, that sad percentage is tempered by the fact that he also converts the blues and greens that a lot of us don't bother collecting otherwise.

Someone said they actually watched the average amounts they were getting on balz runs with and without the pope. Bogey, was that you?
