I have an L31 ranger. I have a yellow armor that gives +50 agility, +12 endurance and some other features. With it, my HP are 4.2K and mana is 3.1 K. My attack rating is 3234 with it and my defense is 1492. I have a purple armor that gives +25 agility and +38 intellect and I have 4.0K hp and 4.4K mana with it on. But my attack rating falls to 2737 and my defense rises to 1932. There are some other minor differences but the purple armor also increases the chance for a critical hit (38%). I have to admit I spend a lot of mana and almost never run out of hp but that drop in attack rating...yeesh! |

I'm better with fighter and mage -- just started my ranger, so someone can correct me if I'm off here... First, the crit isn't a good as it would seem. The normal crit is 3%, so raising that by 38% (38%x3%) gives you a little better than 4% chance of crit. Second, (lacking the Stats Dungeon) you probably just have to test both old school. If money is tight, and you're saving noticeable pots, go with that. If the other gets the job done faster, and you aren't worried about the pots and price, there you go. |

Yea I wouldn't even factor in the crit rate at that level. Wait till you get a full set of armor with +crit% on it, and you have alot more agility, to see a difference. I will tell you at lvl 100 my ranger has about 11k hp, 3-4k mana, and 22k attack rating. You don't really need that much hp, use extra crispy monster bait to take most of your damage whenever you can. Find you a demon sniper or some armor with mana steal and your mana worries will become non existant. You need alot of agility so you're not constantly missing. On a side note if you're heading towards the poison side of things, you will need more intel to make your spells more effect, but I would still look for some mana steal. I never buy any mana pots for my ranger or fighter because of the mana steal, it's worth its weight in gold. |

Sounds as if you value good fast DMG and ranger skills above everything else. I don't know what your build is like, but if you want, you could always go for a hybrid build (provided you're not going to use it in PvP). Either Poison ranger, Ice ranger or something else. It's easy, all you basically do is split the CPs evenly between AGI and INT, disregarding END. To make up for your lack of END you, of course, need armor and maybe some jewelry that give you a decent bonus to that stat. As for the passives; Average BMI, Gym Freak, Trigger Happy (or something like that...) (optional), Mental prowess, Bookworm. Average BMI and Gym Freak will reinforce your HP. Trigger Happy will enhance your ATK speed. A lot of hybrid rangers ditch this skill in favor of Mental prowess which enforces your spell DMG (Poison/Ice shot, Gaseous Blast, Noxious Shot etc.) and Bookworm for aditional mana. If you're going to do this, remember one thing, and one thing only; You cannot fully succeed (without chugging tons of potions) by yourself, you'll need BAIT. Now, IMO the Turkey Leg was always first choice for me, because you can position it wherever you want and I usually dispatch the mob with my ranger before they bash it down. Some people prefer Bill, but he's not much of a help as a companion. Instead, some rangers just use that skill that turns him into a block of ice, so it's kinda like a Turkey Leg that slows down your opponents, but the navigation and positioning is kinda tricky. |
