I'm new and I want to be a mage. ;]

Hey, so I'm just downloading the game now and I'm pretty sure I want to be a mage. And I was wondering if anybody could help me out by suggesting a build, or skills I should get, weapons? I dunno, I just might need some help with the game until I get used to it. I'm not asking to follow you around while you kill stuff and level ne, if you can do that in this game... I dunno, but yeah. I was just wondering if anybody could suggest a build, skills etc... Oh, and my xfire is zomgzdylan so like, if you wanna add me, add me. I don't know how to put it in my signature, if this forum even has them. O_O Edited by Dylannn (07/12/08 09:52 PM) |

If you searched a bit, you could easily find several discussions about mage-builds in this thread. ^^ It depends on armor I guess. If you find and use armors with both INT and END, you might wanna go 4 INT 1 END. If you go for armors with mostly END, then go full INT, and finally if you go for the more INT-rewarding armors, you might wanna go 3 INT 2 END. Most lvl 100 respec to almost (or only) everything on INT though. You have a simple mage-guide here you might wanna take a look at too. More and more here have just started to use Xfire (there's a thread in off-topic about this) but there isn't any way to show your xfire-stats with picture in the forums. They're working on completely redoing the forum so who knows, within just a few weeks or a month of a couple of months, you will be able too. We can only guess. -------------------- May The Rainbows Drop As Cows From The Sky HDoL.eu - Horrific Domain of Legend - A Dungeon Runners Fansite |

If I could offer a little advice. I've only been playing for a month but have built all three of my characters (a fighter mage and a ranger) to 20s in levels very quickly. The ranger I just created on Tuesday and have at L24 now. The other two are L29 and L28. 1) If you right-click your name, one of the options is to 'reset instances'. That's how you can run the same dungeon over and over again. Also if you run out of waypoint scrolls (very embarassing!) it will get you home again but obviously lose your place in the dungeon. I would suggest that you keep doing the Dew Valley one until you are Level 8-10. I got up to L6 in one night (maybe 3 hours?) doing Dew Valley and then got up to L10 doing only the first level of Algernon in a few hours. 2) Do as many of the quests as possible. They are really very easy and the cash you get will get you newer spells quickly. 3) Use your right and left mouse-click slots. I typically alternate very fast spells in left and right click slots. If you are holding down the shift key, you won't advance towards your enemy and you can just hold down a button to fire automatically (but you can't use your Potions while holding it down!) 4) Oh and check out spells from other trainers. 5) Don't spend your king's coins. Save them up and instead go on insane difficulty sissirat and snow chieftain runs to get cool items. 6) Endurance and intellect are generally worth more than +health or +mana on items. Same goes for strength and agility over damage and attack rating adjustments. This is in general, not absolute. 7) To get money and items, play on insane level in groups. But to get experience, play on normal level by yourself or in a group with those higher in level than yourself generally. Once your big and strong, you can help level others. Anyway, the game is freaking addicting. I advise you not to have anything planned for a few weeks and to support your wrist so as not to develop carpal tunnel syndrome. And try out ranger and fighter. The game plays very different with them. |
