kk most of you will know me from RangedRange the lvl 10 ranger.

Although belive it or not i dont have a main char , the highest lvl char i have is lvl 18.

i need help. i need the fastest leveling build , i know that its mage but shud i go with shadow mage , fire mage etc... and also what skills to use the set up im using at the moment can be found HERE I found out i dont need anymore hp to do the runs im on and that most shud be on INT for now. at lvl 25 im going to become a BSoL mage but until then i need ur help ppl!

You could go for a Shadow Wizard (Shadow Lightning, Improved Shadow Lightning, Ring of Fire, Gaseous Blast, Shadow Bolt), a Pyromancer (Crispy Critters, Ring of Fire, Gaseous Blast, Fire Bolt) or a complete AoE Mage (Shadow Lightning, Improved Shadow Lightning, Ring of Fire, Gaseous Blast, Crispy Critters). I personally don't like the AoE Mage Build, but some people say its superior.

kk ive gave my build some thought and its working well , even at a low lvl ive found the gear and build to make it work well and lvl fast.

normally play DR a few hours a day and normally pvping , but still find time to lvl up abuot 3 or 4 times , so without pvp cud easily lvl abput 8 times a day if not more.

Don't count on 4 lvls a day once you get into the higher lvls. I can get one lvl in one session at lvl 80+ (haven't timed the session), but I think two lvls would be a bit of overkill for me.

There's about 4,000+ xp in Rat's lvl 3 where I've been running recently, and I now need 20k xp (roughly) per lvl, so that's about 5 runs.

Rats 3 isn't the funnest place to grind either...lots of stunners, banshees casting fear, pukers throwing ice with speed debuff, monsters spawning fodder, etc., etc.

yer i know what u mean , but chances are im not gonna play DR alot now i quit PVP but when i do i can tank play it lol.

To each his own, good sir. Just because you don't find the combination effective doesn't mean it isn't. Everyone has their way of playing, and I can flip this conversation around and bring up points that would say bolt spells are slow and less-useful than another AOE spell in it's place. But, here goes my strategy.

From levels 55-100, 12k-15k XP per hour was the average XP I was pulling in from Balzack's Burrow. When pleveling at level 100, people were amazed at how fast I was cleaning up the place. I gave my exact skill bar setup to various people, and they have complimented me and keep telling me how "easy" it is to use, and how effective it is.

Here's what I do, when I pull in some groups of mobs. Pull group, pull group pull group, pull group, do this 5 more times..ok, backtrack a little, go into a CORNER (So you do not have your back to any of the mobs) and do a Ring of Fire. Spam CC until most of the mobs in front of you are dead. Right click to do shadow lightning on the remaining. The Shadow Lightning has a perfect range agreement with CC, which means, when I right click on a mob and run up to it until the distance for Shadow Lightning, that's just the perfect distance to finish em off with 1 or two clicks of CC (if there's still any left). Before the CC I would do another RoF or GB just to make sure. RoF is a pretty good area spell in that it throws fireballs out in a circle and the fireballs hit the ranged monsters. Usually the only ones left after the first RoF, first spammage of CC and first right-click of SL, are the ranged mobs that are a bit too far away. So the SL gets me close enough to them, I click once or twice to char-broil the rest of the ranged mobs, and while the one-or-two-clicks of CC is going to the ranged mobs, I can already start to attack any other mobs left, usually SL is already charged by then

All in all, I find the combination very effective and i've even had experienced AOE mages come up to me asking how I level so fast. Well, there you have it. Follow that formula to some degree. If you run a place on normal , gather 5-9 groups up, you will find that my strategy works very well. The CC kills all of the ones that can attack you from close, and SL and one or two clicks of CC will finish the rest.

Another thing i'd like to add is, for fastest leveling,IMO, AOE mage is the way to go. All AOE spells, no bolt spells. gether up TONS of mobs at a time and kill them with your AOE spells (Crispy Critters, Shadow Lightning, Ring of Fire,) <-- those are the main 3 I use. You can use Gas Blast but I find that leveling so fast, your gear tends to lack, and a resistance or buff is much more useful in place of Gas Blast. You don't have much poison bonuses as a mage anyway.

Oh, and Pyromania and BSOL are encouraged. At lower levels it's not very helpful and you will chug as many health pots as you will mana, but once you get to the higher levels, BSOL makes all the difference for AOE mages.

thank you , i play DR on an evening for a few hours and im only lvl 35 but per evening im norm picking up 5 lvls per night, and when i can eventually get round to a free day , (hoping for sum rain :P) (yer i know nice life lol) but with a free day cud easy pick up 10 lvls so after 2night and 1 free day lvl 50 shud come easy
