Bling Gnome
#64261 - 06/26/08 03:33 PM

Fellow runners of dungeons,

I bought the boxed version of Dungeon Runners earlier today and was eager to open it up and bring out my new fangled "bling gnome", who was ever so happy to pick up my gold for me.

Pope Sweet Geebus seems reluctant to turn my items into gold however, and simply refuses to do so, despite activating the skill several times with items both on the ground and in my inventory.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

He only converts items dropped by mobs or from chests and those items must be yellow or lower. Basically, you just activate him every 45 seconds while you're dungeon running or boss farming.

Welcome to the collective, btw

I see. I was under the impression that it was just a 45-second cooldown. Thanks.

I just tried that, he's still not picking up items.

Edit: Ok, I think I understand it. you can't pick an item up or else it won't be affected.

I can't say i'm a fan of that.

Yes, you are correct. He can only convert items that you have not yet picked up. You can't pick up and item then drop it on the ground and expect your Bling Gnome to convert it. Bling Gnomes are snobby like that.

Thanks.

How is the gold calculated? Is it by how much the item would sell to a merchant?

I've heard that the Bling Gnome converts to just a little less than the normal NPC's, but someone comparing in-game said it's the same, so I'm not sure.

Anyways, about the Gnome not picking up stuff you drop: Since there is a chance for mythic items wich raises with the amount of items he picks up, it would be way to easy for people to gather a lot of stuff getting rainbows every Gnome-activation. I say it's better the way it is. ^^

I think it's good the gnome can't pick up stuff that isn't assigned to us, even if we drop it, because then they would pick up other people's things that they drop as well and I could see that causing a lot of problems (since sometimes we drop things on accident).

I did 5 normal Abby runs with and with out using Pope...
The average amount differed by right at 5k per run. Not anything huge but still a difference.
