Would this work?
#61705 - 06/10/08 06:59 PM

I'm thinking of making a mage, but I hate how they get hit and die so easily. I've been thinking about making a pure int mage.

I was going to start out going half int. and half end. up until about lvl 10.

Then respec to pure int and get endurance from armor, such as warrior gear like crystal armor and all. And use rings, necklaces and weapons for more int?

Any suggestions?

EDIT: I think this type of build would help out with solo'ing bosses, as another thread stated, they arn't as good for it as warriors.

It seems possible. Similar to what some players call a "battle mage". Keep in mind though, the warrior armor has higher defense, but will slow your movement down quite a bit. Thus, you will be much closer to mobs than the average mage.

Shall be lifted — nevermore!

well ill start him tonight and keep you guys posted in this thread i geuss.

I'll have a character sheet up soon too

EDIT: I don't think the whole being closer to the mobs will matter much as I'll hopefully have the defense to match.

I'll also be getting BSoL ASAP

A battle mage that you are talking about is really not that great of an idea Fighter armor gives you bounuses that are not needed as a mage. what you would want to get is some of the Woolen Mage gear it has either a 50 50 split with Int and End full end this would give you a better mage set up since it will be at least mage bonuses ie plus ice fire shaddow damage. Mages need lots of points into both int and end when they first start out. its not until at least lvl 35-40 that you can go with a full int build and not die every mob.

If you are only going half INT, half END for the first 10 levels then you may as well go full INT and spare yourself the need for respecing. Really, the first 10 levels fly by very quickly, no sense using a different build then and after.
