BFG in action?
#61027 - 06/06/08 06:56 PM

Does anyone know of a video on youtube (didn't seem to be one) or elsewhere that shows a BFG or the other newer ranged weapons in action? I doubt I'll be seeing them for a while up close, so I was wondering

lol, BFG isn't really new, its been around at least as long as I have(beginning of january). And I never use them because they are slow. I'm not sure exactly what you want to see, how effective(how much damage)? Or just what it looks like?

Well, as for effectiveness, meh, very low "low end" damage presents problems, like any weapon that has the capability for high single hit damage.

As for how it looks, well, is just a red laser really, like a blaster from a certain blockbuster movie franchise "space wars" or the like , no copyright infringement here hehe. Nothing special, there are only 3 different animations for ranger weapons currently, the crossbow bolts, shotgun blasts, and the laser.

Ah, I see, nothing special then-

But yeah, I just meant the animations. I assumed that each had it's own =/ I played briefly a long time ago, before those weapons were in, so they're "new" to me.

Thanks for the response, though

I see, and welcome back.

I wish that at least the mythic weapons had their own animations. I remember firing my first Duke Blaster thinking that I'd get some cool new shotgun like blast of sorts, only to find that its just the red laser like a BFG, only its a heck of a lot faster.

Wow John, that must've been in the beta
BFG's are there as long as I remember, when the beta status was removed. Theres a mythical version called Bad Mutha by the way.

Actually I think it may have been the beta - I also remember non-members not having any bank privileges or the ability to use king's coins.. at least I think that was the case.

that was the how it was until fairly recently though. So could have been post-beta. Trying to remember when BFG was put into game but not recalling. Was fairly early though.
