An official one you mean? Maybe, but The websites/other things for DR that are currently for use I have atleast an reasonable relationship with, and I trust the people to respect the effort. I dont mind if people use TheTownstons for their information, or for their website for that matter, as long as its not copy paste. Getting ideas off TT is what I prefer. Some things are really ONLY for TT, but the people know that already. I think we are ok, I trust the other folks. |

I'm completely with LR, as for HDoL.eu. People are more than welcome to borrow ideas, find inspiration and get information for us, but not just copy the text straight up. Just as TheTownstons have, we have put a lot of work and time so just ripping it off isn't looked upon with a smile exactly. It's impossible to actually think of everything when doing a fansite, therefore it's really good that theres coming more and more sites. Wherever I feel that we at HDoL.eu don't have enough knowledge, I refer to TheTownstons.com if they've gone through the subject. Also, the more sites that go through one and the same subject, the more information will people get when they go through the sites. But LR, just to be on the safe side, you should put a footer with some ©Copyright info at least. -------------------- May The Rainbows Drop As Cows From The Sky HDoL.eu - Horrific Domain of Legend - A Dungeon Runners Fansite |

I now officially ran to the safe side, Magnus. Added copyright on footer and linked a soon-to-come project page to it. Pff, now gotta figure out how all the official copyright stuff works |

Looks good bro. ![]() You don't have to put the © symbol on your site, but it's good for information if anyone wanna reach you. It's still protected by copyright by law. I didn't find any real good info in english, but there's a little here you can read. -------------------- May The Rainbows Drop As Cows From The Sky HDoL.eu - Horrific Domain of Legend - A Dungeon Runners Fansite |

In general, any published work is automatically copyrighted. Publishing the notice makes this clear. However, in order to every enforce any legal rights in a copyright, it is much better to register it, which is a fairly complicated process. I did a lot of the work on the dungeons at thetownstons.com, along with a lot of other people, and I hope that players will feel free to spread it around. However, for someone to lift it bodily and put it into some commercial venture and sell it would upset me greatly! That is what would actually constitute a violation of copyright. In any case, check out the dungeon pages, and PLEASE help us by adding your input!! -------------------- CatWalksByHimself Please help out by contributing to TheTownstons Wiki http://www.thetownstons.com |
