I have been playing the game since october of last year (I think )and this has been something that happens randomly for me. I have seen most problems get fixed without saying anything, and I guess I was just kinda of waiting to see if this got fixed. But it has not yet for me, and I'm not even sure if it's the game. Although I don't seem to have any problems with any other game I play (which doesn't mean alot these days I know).

While holding forward on my keyboard (I have movement keys mapped to the arrows), my options box pops up (like when you hit escape), and the screen starts spinning. It will not stop until I hit F1 to get rid of my options, and hit the movment keys repeatedly to re-gain control of my screen. I can move all around while the screen is spinning, I can move the mouse cursor. This happens in town, or in instances. It can be right after warping, or while running, during fighting, or if I have just been standing there and decide to move. It always seems to happen when I move forward though, no other direction.

I searched thru all the mouse/keyboard problems on the forum and didn't find anything quite like this. I use vista premium 32 bit, and have bought another keyboard and mouse since I started playing. I don't use edge rotate either, its off in the options. I haven't tried it in windowed mode, only cause I like to play in fullscreen. Also the game has been re-installed a few times, which did not cure the problem.

Just want to know if anyone else has encountered this before I put in a ticket on it. It's really only been a minor annoyance, but when it happens during Abby runs..

Now I do alt+tab out of the game sometimes. But the problem does not occur for sometime after, so I'm not sure if that messes with the game or not. I've only read of the keyboard and mouse stop responding right after the alt+tab is performed. Also the game never actually freezes or crashes, and controls still respond. It just goes wacky. Thx for any input on the subject.

P.S. Sometimes I can go a couple hours without it happening. But on average I'd say it happens to me once an hour or so.

Have you tried turning off the mouse rotation option in general options (it turns off the control that turns the screen when the cursor is put to the edge of it - very annoying imo...)? When I first started my screen would sometimes spin unexpectedly and this stopped it for me.

Maybe you remapping the keys somehow effected this control?

Yes, like I said Edge Rotate is off in the options.

Are you using a laptop? It could be your touchpad. Also, look at the game control settings, unless u already did.

There used to be an old bug similar to this but I thought it had been fixed. The old bug was if you used the arrow keys for movement, any turning with the R/L arrows as you enter a red door or an instance transition, as you exited into a new instance your screen would spin as the OP describes. Hitting the arrow key OPPOSITE the direction of the spin would stop the bug and you could move normally.

The odd thing is the options menu opening with the up arrow. You should probably submit a support ticket if you have not already done so.

I'm using a desktop with a Microsoft Wireless Photo Keyboard/Mouse combo. Yea, it's only when I hit forward, not the side keys. And the options pop up when it happen. I finally told someone about in group last night and had to tell them I wasn't smoking anything lol! Def gonna put in a ticket today, just wanted to make sure I wasn't telling them something they already knew about. Thx everyone.

Have you tried switching out the wireless keyboard/mouse for the wired versions as a test?

If the problem goes away when you swap them out then it's a conflict on your wireless keyboard. Some models let you change the channel on it does yours?

Also, does your board support macro's? and if it does, do you have a macro bound to the forward key for opening options in an application?

EDIT: How about the exact model number of the board so we can research it for you a bit better then guessing?

The keyboard I had was wired when I started playing, and I had the same problem. It's ok I've put in a ticket to ncsoft.

Weird, your problem never happens to me. It could be your hard drive. Have you tried reinstalling the game and NCSoft launcher?
