Stuck in normal
#55756 - 04/23/08 12:19 AM

No matter which level I choose, I seem to be stuck in normal. There's no difference in loot or mob difficulty when I change levels. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Malda

Difficulty sliders do not change when you change zones. you have to manulay do it by going into Options General Difficulty slider and change it to a higher difficulty then make sure that you hit Okay on the bottom of the screen.

This will then show yellow text in the chat menu saying difficulty is changed If you do not see this then it is not changed. you may have forgotten to hit okay.

At the momement you may also want to cycle your Difficulty slider down one lvl below what you need and then hitting okay then going back up to the lvl that you want to avoid a small bug in the difficulty slider. Hopefully the bug will be addressed in the next patch.

One last check after you are in a zone the mobs should tell you if they are normal or on a higher lvl by mousing over them if they state normal the slider has not changed yet. try reseting zone.

Thats just the type of monster, ie normal, fodder, hero etc. To tell if the difficulty has changed, look at the loot %(far right in the info box in lower right corner) +50% for Formidable +100% for Extreme and +150% for insane(this is of coarse if you are solo).

As Wanderer says, try changing one up or down from what you want, hit ok, then set to what you want and click ok again. You may need to reset instances after hitting OK though. Small bug that came up since the last patch, and hopefully the devs have noticed, because there's not a lot of discussion going on for it.

Two things real quick,

1) If it is a normal mob at normal difficulty it will just say normal thus why i put that if its at a higher Difficulty then they will say 50% more hp.... etc.

2) The Dev team is aware of this Bug they responded about it a while back stating that the Difficulty slider was taken from on our side and brought to there side thus where the bug occured.

<Rolls eyes>

It looked like you had implied that it might say "formidable" or "insane"

Just clarifying bud.
