Dark Wanderers Posse

Hello everyone In light of now Posses becoming offical soon. I decided to take it upon myslef to put one together like Theck(Valor) and JF (Geeks for Jesus). Guild Name: Dark Wanderers Guild Leader: Darkfigher/DaDarksummoner Guild Page: Dark Wanderers Home Guild Officer so far: Swiper/Teclis The Pages are up along with Forums and some other things. I will continue to do more work on it as I go and if you see anything off or wrong please let me know I am no master at this and have not built a page in years. As is everyone else we are taking recruiting now. So sign up now on the web page. Thanks in advance for everyones Support. Edit: On a side note I do know that it's under Dungeon & Dragons Online. Unfortunelty the host makes you put in what Game you are playing but does not have Dungeon Runners yet I have requested that they add it. As soon as they do I will have it switched over. I have succumbed to the "Dark" side and, with Dark, decided it be best to join an "unofficial" guild (as I've been caught saying before, lol) to be on the ground runnin' (ha ha) when posses do hit. We're always on with friends anyhow most of the time, so it's kind of already happening. Plus, can't let Theck get all the limelight.  We'll take members from OTHER guilds that defect....::poke poke:: Since we're on the dark side we have cookies, btw, if no one has ever told you. ::Holds out plate of steaming chocolate chip cookies:: I wonder if Theck is going to try and blackmail me for "office" by saying that I 've played with his guild members on raids before... LIES, LIES I TELL YOU!!!  |

People will choose whichever guild they feel is best for them, and after all, isn't the whole point of a guild to provide for the member? Theck I was just messing with you! You know me well enough now, lol. I just like a good friendly rivalry - although, even at a glance down the road you seem to be much more organized and have much more experience "running" a guild than almost everyone I know besides my brothers. So I doubt there is any real competition. Nothing like a little temptation to check where allegiances lie though....  |

the Web page host though does not want RSS feeds on website unless you subscribe to there site. Right now im using it as a free member have adds on page and all that good stuff. They state that RSS feeds cause to much server load for a non paying member. I guess like LM i will be manualy updating the new sections as new news comes in for the time being if this goes over well though who knows I may just end up subscribing. |

They're probably charging you to provide your own RSS feed to other people, not to read information from widgets or other websites. If they're charging you for that, then they're thieves, considering that you can plug external RSS feeds into any number of free blog sites. /*edit*/ I put a test site up to check it out. Sure enough, RSS feeds are for premium subscribers, but you do have the ability to paste in HTML. Check out the test page on my dummy site: !!! Oh come on now... Dark ya didn't even let me know what ya had up yer sleeve? Swiper... seriously not even a word... and now due to my own beliefs and experience, Now i gots to Choose!?!?!... -growls- Well i wont do it... It's been my experience with guilds over the past ten years or so in various games that people tend to go with there closest friends on where there going to be. As it stands right now this very instant I am in Valor. I joined Valor when i saw there Drop party and thought. "Wow cool! People with the same ideals of GIVING that i have!! Sweet i must check this out!" Since then i have made various friends within Valor. Theck, Crosis... wait... ok maybe i have only worked with two people within valor that was not an alias of Theck himself. Anyway i'm off the track here... The point is a Party with Swiper and DarkFighter/DaDarkSummoner all the friggin time... I have come to reguard them as close friends, as has my wife. I would absolutely think it to be a Blast to be in a group, posse, guild with them. I tried to recruit both of you guys into Valor for that very reason. So enough Babbling like an idiot... i'll just Ask. Is anyone apposed to being in more than one posse/guild? I would appreciate some feed back on this one folks... To be honest. If people appose it. If ya'll don't think it's a good idea... i would rather be guildless. Don't like being tied down. (Not that Theck ties us up or anything... What? Why are you all starring at me like that? >.>....<.<......o.o..... He's standing right behind me isn't he?..... Ahhh Crap. )j/k |

Honestly Falk this is something that just started brewing the other night. I was originally going to just wait till guilds come out and then pop one up but when I started working on the web page it came together a lot quicker than I ever dreamed possible. I know that I would never ever not call you friend because you are in a different Posse then mine. About being in two posses at once I guess that you could up until we actually go live with them for the simple fact of the matter is there is no regulation atm. Being in separate guilds then your friends does have advantages though, you get to go on two different raids, get help from two different guilds, and get groups while your guild is not on. Eventually over time though you may decide that one is better suited for you then the other, make a choice then. Who knows what the future of Valor or Dark Wanderers Holds maybe an alliance one day down the line? |

Since this may be the last time I talk to you while you are in Valor, I will leave you my review of both yourself and Polgara, which I guess can also serve as a great application aid :P: Falken and Polgara Blackhand are a great team to be with, whether it be farming a boss like Rotgut with them, delving into the Horrific Dungeon of Legend beside them, or even just having a good chat with. FalkenBlackhand demonstrates great leadership skills, as witnessed when he just needed to vent a little bit about some issues about Valor/Raiding and brought up some great ideas. They are always willing to help out, and they are very generous people, as is much of the guild. It goes without saying that they would be dearly missed in Valor from all of the people they have met and associated with (I know that it was more than just me and Crosis ), but, wherever they go, we wish them the best of luck.On Multi-guilding: Personally, I don't really like the whole concept and let me tell you why: If you start multi-guilding now, you are going to be making more friends and becoming more attached to each guild. When patch-day comes, and guilds are introduced, I am 99% certain that you will have to pick between all of the guilds you are currently in, which will lead to an even larger effect on whichever guilds you don't choose. Personally, I have bent over backwards to make sure that Valor has a great webhost (costing me $15/mo), a Ventrilo server (costing Kazea another %5/mo), forums (ad-free, $5/mo), *quality* members (by having to apply so we can learn about you before we let you in), made special additions to the forums so that you could read them easier , and hours and hours of my time to ensure that you guys have the best guild experience that you can before guilds go live.If you and your wife leave, that is absolutely fine. If you decide that you really have to multi-guild, that is fine too; just know that there may be a hard split in the road ahead. I think you should just weigh over the options, perhaps sleep on it, and see what you want to do. Whichever way you would like to go, I offer you best of luck, and am still happy to help you as I'm sure many of our runners are. - On a side note - To Swiper and DarkFighter: If I could only give you one piece of advice of my 5 years of guild leading experience, it is that you HAVE to be devoted and in it for the long term. If you're shaky on this subject, then you should not be leading a large group of players. Guild leaders always have alot of issues weighing on them, and you really have to be able to sort through all of that yet still be able to spend time playing the game. It is a very hard balance to achieve. Also, one's personal pride has to become meaningless when leading a guild. My first few guilds, I admit, were probably more of a popularity surge for ME, rather than a great place for THEM. Bottom line: If you are going to go through with this guild, do it for the members and not for you, and do it for the long run. Otherwise, all you are doing is hurting others and wasting their time. Please note, this is not intended to be a flame or anything, I'm just "telling it like it is". I'm not angry, disgruntled, shocked, or anything, but that is truly the best advice I can give you right now. I've seen good endings to my guilds, and I've seen horrible ones. Afcourse, dont forget your personal Guild Page on The Townstons.com Only things to note: Look at other guild pages for the infobox template, theres currently a yellow and blue one. And the page should start with Guild: {Guildname} More then that.. I hope it'll be good |

I don't think you understood my point Dark... I wasn't saying that "Our guild is better because we have an awesome webpage made by MEEEEEEEE" I was saying that if you really want your guild to work, you need to make it stand out somehow, whether it be by creating a new kind of perk for your members, or like Valor did with the website. Use your strengths, and stay devoted. What I've personally noticed while helping to pioneer having a guild in Dungeon Runners is that it is ALOT more time consuming so far, because there isn't guild support in game. And with that, I'm done; I think I have already come off alot more serious than I meant to, and this game is all about having casual fun, right? - I honestly can say that it will be interesting watching you guys grow, and if you should ever need any help, you can count on us to watch your back. Heck, some time when you guys are 100% on your feet, perhaps we can do some guild activities together if ya'll would be game.-------------------- "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."

Oh man, my "random thoughts" created more of a "warm" discussion than I ever wanted. I never meant for you to have to explain anything Theck - everything, and I mean everything, was in a very joking way you can be assured. I, as well as Dark as far I can tell in knowing him, only want to make friends and have a good time, not be too serious about things, and that's why I play DR like you said. The whole semantics about guilds/etc is sometimes why people get turned off to them in the first place, and I uderstand that because of the opposition it can create. I can assure that no matter what guild I'm in it will never be anything personal against anyone - it's entirely for the enjoyment of having fun with other people as often as I can grab a chance to do so. If other people want to make it as serious as they like, kudos to them of course too. I hope we get whatever it is we may get out of it (I can't speak for what Dark's end idea is for the thing) but my interest and inclusion is completely platonic. Sorry to somehow cause a little unrest, it was very unintentional. Also, just wanted it to be known that we didn't solicit anyone (who may have posted here in this thread btw)... ::flicks falken's ear:: Dammit falken! That's it, where's my drillifier... (every group has some sort of initiation, good thing I kept those drillifiers in the bank to "induct" applicants ) lol.... |

It's not my widget, actually, just uses the same engine as one of mine. That one, in particular, appears to let you select whichever RSS feed(s) you want. |

GAH, I'm so bad with all this technical stuff...how do I put my photo in there?! I have my photo in facebook, but, I.....argh. So many buttons... Nice highlights btw bro, lol. And the dirty sanchez brings out your cheekbones. j/k I can't say much since I'm a 6'5 hairy wookie, HA. I have those "worry paths" from your forehead up onto the top of your head (take your head and droop it between your knees, then take the palms of your hands and rub them front to back on each side of the crown of your forehead/head until the answer comes to you, lol. Done that many nights trying to figure out how to make 3 hotdogs and a box of kraft last two days - yikes! Although I like the better explanation that my wife wore those with her hands rubbing my head...somehow.... lol)It will work out eventually - now I gotta get in the learnedness of doing the whole screenshot thing. What program(s) can I (should I) use again to do it here in DR? I gotta get some pin-up shots of Swiper... |

To do a Screen shot of Swiper its really easy Open DR get Swiper posistion where you want her. Then hit Print screen. Open Paint and hit Ctrl V. it will throw the Pic on to paint and you can save it to your hard drive. :-) |

Dark, what web hosting are you using, you've said you use for free so thats good for me. And do they have any page building tools or am I going to have to dig in my brain and google and relearn html so i can build it my self, <sighs> its been along time and I never did much, but its easy.
