A bit of warning on XML in the upcoming heave
#54621 - 04/14/08 08:26 PM |
We've got a lot of new stuff coming in this heave... exciting! For one, the character XML is revving up to version 3, with what should (again) be compatible changes. One of the big ones is that we pack more information about your skills in, so you can see mana cost, damage, and so on. Another piece of the puzzle will be the PvP rankings. There will be a lot of ways to look at the data, I'm still compiling a complete list... but at the minimum you will be able to see who has the most wins, who has the highest rating, and you'll be able to get data by level brackets. We'll also provide weekly summaries and historical data, although I'm not certain that will be ready immediately when the heave is available. Also, we're going to have all of this available at the same time the heave is on PTS (with a slightly different set of URLs, so live data isn't interrupted), so if you want to use the data, you'll be able to prepare for the changes and new features before the build is live. There will be more details (like what URLs to use) as we get closer to putting this heave up on PTS, but I wanted to keep everyone apprised of the situation. ![]() |

Quote: I'm working on this right now, hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to point everyone to URLs for the test data. It will be live XML generated in the PTS environment, too! |
