Out Of This World
#53663 - 04/07/08 08:58 PM |
Hello everyone, i am not posting often on forums but now there are a few things that got me very frustrated and i decided i would explain myself around here before taking a good break... Well it all started like ten days ago i was bumped by a player that was level 93 and that i had never met and that person came nicely to me asking if i had a level 100 Cinder armor for trade . several months ago Wyrth had kindly offered me a bugged/soulbound 100 cinder of his that turned out to be soul bound in ten minutes after the patch ... for a long while i had kept that breast plate as the one and only item i had been saving not because i wanted to trade it but just because it was a gift from Wyrth ... after just several minutes that person finally turned out to ask me that armor for free (well not exactly she was offering things like alibuba shoulder pads 93 and sowerun's ego too "yay") i very kindly refused but after just a few minutes she started to go real bad on me calling me names and harrassing me it was quite disturbing and as i quite hate to be into an argument with someone when i can avoid it , i took two hours to end up in good terms with that same person... after that i decided i would trade the cinder armor not only because i discovered it had a big trade value but mostly because i found out that every body was getting crasy about trades and due to that most people were keeping everything but the crappiest rainbows that were the only ones offered to the group ... so as things had turned tricky i decided to stop giving anything to anyone but rather give a true sponsorship for the people i considered as loyal friends ... despite the fact that getting new patch mage rainbows seemed almost impossible i still had very kind friends that have been saving me free stuff and allowed me to gather a nice amount of those new armor parts i was looking for... as i gathered the new gear i decided to go back to pvp and there something quite strange and at the same time quite usual happened : when i would group with some friend there that had invited me he would go " this group is great, this is a blast, they have been skunked", and so on... but when i would decide to go on with some other friend of mine that very same friend would just change in the blink of an eye saying line like " you are exploiting the game because you have most of your skills points in one stat when fighters cant do that, you are using a "God mode" because since your mana is invisible to me i have no way to know where i stand in the fight,"and so on.... i mean man seriously what kind of treatment is that toward a friend ? when you come to me and tell me you need stuff i just open all of my stashes for you and all you have to do is pick, when the next day you litteraly spam me with bad thoughts aimed toward me and the class i play... i held no grief and then just yesterday you send me a line making me leave my farming group to pvp with you , wich i did and by grouping with you , i had to kill my best friend over and over again... and then after three hours being with you,i leave to join up my other friend and all of a sudden you change your attitude and start to give me lines about how cheap is the class that i play and how much there is nothing to be proud of being good at pvp when i am a mage... anyway , my dear fellows , at this point your humble narrator started to feel quite down but was i to get comfort in the arms of my companions that i PVE with ? sadly not. SO as you all just read it is true that i had been getting free items from some very loyal frieds and i really wanted to make it worth it for them and to prove my gratitude, so when one day i found out i knew someone who had a T3 death by the slice and that one of my teamates that had been kind was looking for i came to a trade and offered the slice. On the day after as i logged on i hailed one of the persons that i enjoy hang with the most as i usualy do but had no answer... did not swet about it and kept on doing my thing after a while i sent another line to that same person asking if he still had a ring i for fighter i wanted to get for the same friend i had given the slice to. but all of sudden that person really answered to me in a mean way putting on insults when it was really not necessary. i was really confused because the very same person that was insulting me at this time was a person that just twenty four hours before that told me again " i was the best" for i had gotten him a few T3 spastic pieces as well as some 100 radiance shoulder pads he told me he had been looking for a long time ago just a couple days before that argument at first i did not realise that i was being charged guilty of being a piece of trash for getting the T3 death by the slice to someone else ... anyways i really liked that person and did not even get mad at him for a single instant and i layed a hand on ANOTHER T3 death by the slice as he was discreditating me and simply gave it to him too so everyone would be happy. this story could have ended up quite very well in the best of the worlds ( but hell i dont play in world seven so maybe it is why such an utopia could not occur ) but the fact is that after that i felt like i was just stupid , stupid to let someone being able to make me believe there is an order to give something to a friend, stupid to believe i did a mistake by not respecting "established order" and on top of that the person i had given radiance dbts as well as the T3 spastics did not even think i was loyal enough to give me a "hello" when i would log on or to reply any of my lines for two days in a row unless i sent each of them several times in a row ... and now ( if you still are reading this of course ) when i logged on today i was simply and purely explained that a friend of mine that is German and cannot speak perfect english was the victim of an attempt of thievery by a character named DENIZH (level 64) who asked him for free ma'ne ice gloves to him and after my pal said " sorry i keep for pharque " that very same denizH logged on another char and said something like " hi this is Pharque do you have ma'ne ice gloves for me ?" there was no harm done and my buddy does not speak perfect english but considering his lack of mastering the language a proof of foolness was clearly underestimating him ... nonetheless i quite feel violated to be aknowledged of the fact that people use my name to try and rip people off... for all those reasons i really lost my apetite for the game tonight and decided i would simply not come back until next patch so congratulations to all those who managed to disguss me from the game and from my beloved world II Jaysherman you are my one and only friend that still comes online from time to time but when you are not around i just feel like i am playing a MMO without being linked to the internet . I hope you will still be around when the next patch is up otherwise send me your email via PM and we will work something out together people i will miss : Jaysherman , ValariaC , Bloddfiste , LadyVady , Eviltetris , Abaeterno , Wyrth , JesusFreak , Stewe , Ghostie , Magenolan , Legendrunner , Koleminer , RayBan , LotusCow , Wyrth , Lunanegra ... Pharque, I've never had the pleasure of meeting you in game. But I recognise you as someone that has committed time to this game and has greetly enjoyed it. I hope that you will eventually return. I would like to say that this will all blow over and things will get better. But I also think that until there is some form of in-game monitoring that some of the thing you've mentioned will continue. Best wishes, Gary |

As yet another player that has never been grouped with you and does not know you personaly I will say that you will be missed though because i have heard some many many great things about you. Recently I have gotten close to a couple of friends in game and have let the rest of the world pass me by while playing. When those players are not on alot of the times I feel the same way as you and end up just logging off for I have no desire to play just another hack and slash game without my friends. Im hoping that my desire to play this game and to converse with everyone comes back soon but alas it has not yet I will keep logging on and trying to immerse my self in the loving embrace of this game though. I hope that you after a small break will be back as well. In no way shape or form does my lackluster of playing have anything to do with upcomming patch being that i am a member I think that the Dev team is great and doing a wonderfull job just life got a hold of me recently. Kids taking over my life lol. |

I won't say goodbye, as I plan to be around after the patch, so I look forward to seeing you then. I hate something like this has happened, and makes you feel as though you need to wait until after the patch to play again. Albeit good that you are coming back and not saying goodbye for good. You're one of my favorite people to play with/talk with and I will miss you in the meantime. -------------------- ~Lady Vady~ LadyVady - 100 MsAbbyNormal - 33 When in charge, ponder. Thats too bad man. I'm sure I will see you for the next heave. Thanks for all the Late Knights armor you gave me for free without me even asking for it, and the very profitable Abby runs. You're a good guy, take a few weeks off. You'll come back refreshed, and it'll seem like a new game again. Cya around. |

Wow Pharque... that's quite an experience. As in real life, we're bound to run into people who are less than mature and will identify the quality of their character by their actions. If what you stated is true, you are a benevolent individual. Something not only the gaming community needs more of, but the world in general. I remember the days as a guild leader in Star Wars Galaxies. We had mainly North American players. We had merged with a European guild, mainly french and it was the first time I could see the difference in culture. The the European players were overwhelming selfless, often putting other's needs before their own. As the guild leader I observed this and found it fascinating and refreshing. I used that to my advantage where possible, but not not exploit it. It was often difficult to rally the North American players to do something for the guild, as they were often too busy with their own individual needs. I had no trouble with the European group. Its a difference in culture. How we're raised, what values we are taught and what we prioritize. Now, before the North Americans on this forum become offended, I will state that first off, I'm a North American myself. I'm Canadian. These observations above are generalizations and not specific to everyone in either group. There are many North Americans with the same qualities as Pharque. We just need to see them more often. So if you're out there, come out of hiding. -------------------- ==================================================== "Think outside of the box..." |
