Mages Turn Now
#52148 - 03/24/08 10:17 AM |
Alright guys I want someone to critize my build for Mage I will post one in Fighter for him. I dont think that my build is the best. It does work well enough though. What would you like to see on a Mage my lvl skills, stats, gear Everything. I mainly do PvE Farming Rotty, Or lately been doing Emb 3 looking for that purse thief Sally. One thing to Note I am going to Drop shield as soon as i get a Shadow or Fire one thats better. Also have a sissy staff for lvl 49 in bank. |

1. Get Gym Freak to increase your health. 2. Consider using Chill Bill instead of Monster Bait. 3. Throw out Shadow Bolt, it's a mana drainer, put Shadow Lightning as your L and Fire Bolt as your R, since your bonuses are highest for Shadow and Fire. Eeverything else is fine. |

Woops Last fight Last night was abby couldnt use fire on him!!! Sorry about that. Changing it back Now to FBolt Left, Shadow Right.. Still in regards to Bill V MB MB still seems to hold agro better then Bill does. Bill is nice dont get me wrong but unless i throw up a Cold spell to keep him healed he falls to fast with out a shitton of buffs on him. |

Good point. He really is pretty much useless unless you have all those DMG and HP buffs to attract aggro and last long enough for you to take them out. Plus, I think you're right about Monster Bait, you can place it wherever you want, like in a tight hall where you can safely pick them off from a distance. |

i would basically say screw fire. Do shadow like 98% of the other mages who lvled. lvl up get your sissi, try to get another dark ring or higher one atleast. Get a grenade neck and start collecting that dreary gear. There are new rbws for mages with shadow on them so look for them too. But shadow, gas, ring of fire is the way to go. Just make sure you ahve some ice gear as well for abby and the new boss. |

Reasons to use Shadow Bolt and not Fire Bolt: 1. Considerably higher average DPS. 2. Very narrow damage fluctuation: consistent damage. 3. Ability to home into targets. 4. Sissirat's Brother's Cousin's Roommate's Staff of Something Really Awesome has crazy: very, very crazy bonuses to Shadow Damage. Reasons to use Fire Bolt and not Shadow Bolt: 1. Considerably longer range. 2. Does not swerve away from your intended target. 3. Uses half the mana. 4. More monsters are Shadow Resistant than Fire Resistant. Personally, I prefer Shadow Bolt. Fire Bolt's damage simply fluctuates too much to my liking, and the power of Sissirat's Brother's Cousin's Roommate's Staff of Something Really Awesome cannot be ignored. If the monsters I am fighting resists Shadow, then I use Ice Shards instead. Fire Bolt is a last resort for me. |

Quote: 1.Only use Gym Freak when partying alone. In groups with meat shields, it'll just make your MP lower and dmg. (Gym Freak gives your title "Brainy". I consider it to be a noob title. Go for gifted, if you're daring). I go for INT only gear with a few END so at least you'll escape melee monsters. 2.Chill Bill is only good if you have free skill spaces. Plus he blocks ice attks. He's a good meat shield though if you keep healing him. 3.What Necro said. Shadow does more dmg on regualr enemies. Change to fire bolt when fiting monsters who are more resistant to shadow. -------------------- http://threeplanetssoftware.com/software/dr/Crackersd Like my Halo avatar, I'm red, you're blue. Quote: This isnt always true. You can have Gifted title with Gym Freak on. Probably just the change with your build. You get Gifted based on the INT you have not on the skill you have. -------------------- JoeB - Level 100 - Back to a Fighter where he belongs SirOldBottom - Level 49 - Ice Mage Mearlin - Level 29 - Mage Dungeon Runners Map Build 0.110 |

I use Gym Freak and my title is "Genius", sometimes "All-Knowing". The skills you use has nothing to do with your first title, your first title is based on the ratio your attributes are distributed. The only way Gym Freak can influence it is by the attribute bonuses and nerfs that it gives, which are minor. |

I should've worded better. I thought you get Gifted based on HP vs Mp (or END vs INT) ratio. -------------------- http://threeplanetssoftware.com/software/dr/Crackersd Like my Halo avatar, I'm red, you're blue. |

It is Int/End ratio. But skills dont change your ratio enough to affect the initial word in your title. At most drop your Int by 5 (if i remember correctly). Your total HP/MP does not affect your name in anyway. -------------------- JoeB - Level 100 - Back to a Fighter where he belongs SirOldBottom - Level 49 - Ice Mage Mearlin - Level 29 - Mage Dungeon Runners Map Build 0.110 |
