Diffferences between the townstons and worlds
#51436 - 03/17/08 07:51 PM

Is there any difference between the townstons? For example townston 1 and townston 4? Also the worlds (servers) Is there a difference between World 1 and 6 for example in terms of speed, etc.
I am a paying memeber and is there any benifit logging into the members only world compared to the others?

From what I understand, there should be no difference between the different Townsons ad no benefit logging in to the mmber world vs one of the others.

One thing did nottice is that the pwnson merchants seem to have slightly different gear then the townson ones do but that's all I have noticed.

The numbered Townstons open up as player load increases in that particular world. I have noticed, (after reading some one's suggestion) that if I am experiencing "lag" in Town 1, I can go to Town 2 and it generally helps.

As was mentioned, there is not a speed or technical benefit to which world you chose to log into. The main difference is what types of players tend to inhabit each world. I have played on World 2 and seven; they both have their good and bad times. Beyond that, I cannot recommend any other worlds.

Necro is correct about the different instances of "Townston" (I'm one of the people who has explained this a couple of times as it has always been explained to me since way back). The "other" townstons show up as player load increases to spread the player load. If you are on a particular world and, say, it gets to 50 ppl, then T2 shows up as available. In general, if you then go to T2 and run your instances from there, you should experience less lag and load time. I don't know the technicality of it, but Ive been doing it since I learned about it since my puter isn't as uber as the rest of some people here (lol) and it tends to help greatly - especially on the weekends and when lots of players are farming or standing around in town between jumping instances.

And there is no "extra" benefit to w2 (the membership server) except that only members can go there. I suppose a perceived benefit would be that items would be easier to trade and come by since everyone who is there can use/trade all items. Many say it also prevents some "wayside" or onetime players from bugging the members, but I don't think that's necessarily true. Lots of the members are WAY more annoying than nonmembers, lol.

ha,

I've been to all the worlds and I still know nothing, lol.

became memb. after like lvl25, do to porting thru ads so much, i'm much happier now, .

As for multi towns, like Neco said. I go to alt. towns just for the quite sometimes, maybe do some target practice(out of respect of others earshot, lol), or study my char, read stuff, hence quite.

I usally pick a world w lower # of peeps hoping for less lagg. It takes a while to get to know anyone on any world but u got lots to choose from. U can't find a friend unless u try, so what the heck go open group see what happens. see u down there, .

Given the amount of time, I have spent in World 2 and the amount of arguments and such I have been in before I turned off world chat... No, using the member server does not cut back on pests. It is actually more annoying, these people actually paid money to be a pain in the...
