MediaWiki Extension
#51212 - 03/15/08 01:03 PM |
Within a few hours (hopefully) I'll have a MediaWiki Character Viewer extension up for public download. LegendRunner asked me way back in December if I knew how to get a character viewer working inside MediaWiki, and of course at the time I didn't want to drop my huge functions.php into an extension. But thanks for the DRCSL I released two days ago it got freaking easy! To see an example, try this picture: http://threeplanetssoftware.com/software/php_dr_library/images/mediawiki_drcsl_extension.png Those two character stat sheets were generated using: Code: {{ #drcsl: Segfault }}That's it! Drop the extension into your mediawiki/extensions folder, enable it in LocalSettings.php and you too can include character sheets on your site. Of course, I have grand plans for this, even if it's only used on TheTownstons, as it seems like a fun toy to me. The appearance needs a nice facelift, among other things. I'll probably include functions to just display skill tables, gear (with images, of course) and the like. This way specific characters could be referenced from strategy pages and not have to change the page if they upgrade their gear. Of course, if they change specs confusion could occur so I've clearly not thought this through enough in the past hour since the idea popped into my head. It'll be hosted on the same pages as the DRCSL. As always, questions and comments are welcome! |

Thanks. And no, the XML doesn't currently contain the descriptions. In the future hopefully it will, or they'll release a file of them, much like the images. |
